This is a very nice, full-size violin with all the required accessories, including a case. I played violin a bit in school and it has been a blast getting to play again!!! I recommend on doing some online, free violin lessons if you are a newbie. This instrument is obviously not an advanced player instrument - but if you are a new student to playing, young or old - this is a wonderful package to trial on. I was surprised that it came with the electronic tuner - and the violin did need to be tuned. Be sure to watch a video on how to properly tighten strings on a violin, there is a special way of doing it, as violin tuning keys are new tightened by screws, but rather by the proper method of winding. Also the bow has to be properly rosined, which means you have to cut slits into the rosin first and rosin it for at least 10-15 minutes. You also have to properly tighten the horsehair on the bow to the proper measurement as well. Once I completed all the setup, this has a beautiful sound and I was surprised I could pick it up and play a few scales after being so long since I played.

This is the first violin. I am amazed at the quality and value of this violin.It is lightweight and feels like a true, quality, instrument. The construction quality and finishes are exceptional for the price and the tone is very good. The included extras alone seem worth the price.The trapeziodal-shaped outer box included the violin, bow, rosin, zippered case with straps, a tuner/metronome with batteries and a clip-on mic, fretboard stickers and user guides for the violin and tuner. (See pics)No set up was required. The violin came out of the case with strings installed and ready to tune. The bow needed only to be tightened and rosined. The only installation necessary was to insert the batteries into the tuner.The included case has felt lining and a velvet cover for the violin,. It has a storage box inside and a pocket on the top where the tuner fits with room for other accessories. (See pics) The included and pre-installed D’Addario strings are excellent quality.The wood, construction and finish are nearly flawless. Compared to the weight of guitars, this violin is as light as air. I can not confirm if the woods used are spruce, maple and ebony, though they all look high end and I have no doubts about them.This is an excellent value for anyone learning to play violin or to add a violin to their collection of instruments.Now, all I need is lessons… I hope this information has been helpful.

This violin arrived in great condition with all parts and accessories intact. This model is an upgrade from the cheapest violins available on Amazon and includes upgraded Prelude strings from D'Addario. The instrument was entirely playable with good sound; The upgraded strings brought up the sound quality quite nicely. The pegs stayed where we wanted them after tuning and everything was as expected. That said, the best thing I ever did when my kids were playing Cello was to take their instruments to a luthier and had their instruments tuned, then made bulletproof with a set of Helicore strings. It cost a little, but all of a sudden the $500 cello sounded every bit as good as the $4000 cello. And you get to sit at the recital knowing those strings will never squeak or squawk a single note during the performance. Recommended.

This is a fantastic choice for beginners and experienced users. Solid wood body and high quality parts. Exceptional craftsmanship with this Violin. Its detail oriented without any hold backs. It sounds very good, comparable to more expensive brands. Tune fittings are precise and easy to adjust. The bow is well balanced and comfortable on the hand.
