In my opinion this umbrella would be best for light rain perhaps when it’s sunny and you need an umbrella to cover yourself otherwise I’m wary about how prepared it’ll be for Chicago weather. However it’s easy to open it’s a bit odd how it retracts itself. The weight feels nice
