Shut-off value leaked
I really like this rain barrel and all the features with two faucets and a gauge to see how full it is. I've probably installed more than a 100 pvc shut-off valves in irrigation systems and have never never had one leak except for now. I assembled the barrel and filled it with about 30 gallons of rain water with no leaks. Then I installed a filter and timer and opened the valve and tested the timer to open and shut but as soon as the timer shut off the water flow the pvc shut-off valve began leaking up through the stem connected to the T handle.Luckily I found a rubber plug so I could install a new pvc shut-off valve without losing to much water. Check it if you can before you install your whole system. But other than that big headache I like the barrel👍

Harvesting Rain Made Easy: with One Minor Adjustment
I recently incorporated Rain Barrels into my sustainable living efforts, and for the most part, they have proven to be an excellent addition to my garden. These barrels efficiently collect rainwater, providing an eco-friendly water source for my plants and reducing reliance on traditional water supplies. The durability and design of the Rain Barrels are commendable, and the installation process was straightforward. The large capacity allows me to store a significant amount of rainwater, promoting water conservation and helping to cut down on utility costs. However, one notable flaw emerged during use that required a bit of tinkering. The tube responsible for measuring the water level in the barrel turned out to be shorter than the overflow valve. Consequently, when the barrels reached capacity, excess water would spill out through the measuring tube instead of diverting to the overflow container as intended. To address this issue, I had to embark on a minor DIY project, searching for the right-sized tube to extend the measuring apparatus. Once I found a suitable replacement, the problem was easily resolved, and the rain barrels functioned flawlessly thereafter.Despite this minor hiccup, the overall performance of the Rain Barrels in collecting rainwater has been outstanding. The inconvenience caused by the shorter tube was a minor setback that, with a simple adjustment, allowed me to fully appreciate the benefits of sustainable water harvesting. I recommend these Rain Barrels to anyone looking to embrace eco-friendly practices in their gardening routine, with the understanding that a quick modification may be necessary for optimal performance.

Does not leak.
It's cheap for the purpose of collecting rain water. It was also easy to install and does not leak. I wish there is something to hold the hose that I put on top to collect the water like a clip. What I did I just place a wood on top of the hose to make it steady.

Nice Solution for Rain Catching
The chief advantage this has going for it is the collapsible design and the capacity that it provides for rain collection. While rated at 53 gallons, it's not going to actually collect that much but it will come pretty close. The assembly is a little tricky at first as the PVC material is packed tightly and is stiff, especially when it comes to sliding in the collection indicator tube and fitting the top tension rods and connectors, but it does come together in the end to produce a capable collection container. There are some tradeoffs with the design in the form of the location of the various spouts and spigots. For example, the main tap spigot is located about halfway on the barrel, so if the capacity level drops below that, it becomes unusable. The bottom hose connection spout will allow for complete drainage though provided you have the right type of hose to fit it as it doesn't have a threaded connection for a garden-style hose. I tested mine out by filling it to capacity and there were no leaks at any of the connections or seams and the overflow spout works very well to drain off any excess. It has a barbed neck so it can take a feeder hose to direct the overflow to your location of choice. The intake at the top of the barrel has a mesh screen that doesn't impede the flow of water but will keep out debris and serves as the all-important barrier to mosquitoes and other bugs who might seek to breed in standing water. The length of the interior volume indicator tube was a little short on mine, so it also serves as an additional overflow point although not by design I'm sure. If you're placing it on an uneven surface, the support legs can be adjusted inside their sleeves without sacrificing stability to ensure the barrel sits level and distributes the load evenly. You do need to add some water when you first set it up so it will remain stable, otherwise, it's prone to collapse (after all it is collapsible by design!). The overall height also works great for use with a downspout adapter to direct the flow, I paired mine with an Oatey device and the twin zippers on the lid allowed its hose to feed all the way to the bottom and secure it in place. For the price, you get a good-quality PVC collapsible rain barrel that will hold quite a lot of nature's gift of free water for your lawn or garden.

Reasonable quality for cost
The water level tube is a poor design. I had to slit the tube to get it over the spout even after putting dish soap on it. Then, I had the added expense of purchasing a hose clamp to attach it securely

Can't use water hose - no water pressure
Great to collect water. But you can't connect it to the water hose... and there's no pressure.
