"Armchair beech vernished legs. Black metal frame painted. ABS shell upholstered in patchwork fabric. It appears simple. On the one hand, in front of you, a collection of hundreds of fabrics, each with its own texture, pattern and colour code. At the other extreme, a chair, beautiful in its nakedness, waiting to be dressed. And waiting apprehensively. I think of American Indian rugs, Moroccan tubs in the Fez dying district. I even think of the dried fruit stalls in the Boqueria market or the spice stalls in a Turkish market. I think of the random order in which the products are displayed and then the penny drops. Randomness. I freely gather up some fabrics and let them fall to the ground from a ladder. They form a chaotic mosaic that I only dare to correct to separate overly similar colours or shapes. And I leave it at that. Like life, this chair is made of small fragments. Small random events. Josep Inarejos"
