I am an Occupational Therapist working with preschool and elementary students and always looking for new activities and tools to help my students’ reach their goals. I have been using the Moonkee’s magnetic drawing board for about a week now with my students. It is the perfect tool to work on fine motor, visual motor, and visual perceptual skills. The magnetic drawing board can be reused repeatedly as well as used in a variety of different ways. I love that the magnetic board has an option to draw with a magnetic pen as well as an option to use peg blocks. There are endless opportunities to work on a variety of different skills while making learning fun! I also love how the magnetic drawing board comes with a booklet of over 20 models to replicate. I plan to cut out each design or page and laminate them to last longer. My favorite designs to use in the booklet has included the letters and numbers. I am always working on printing/ writing letters and numbers with my students and this magnetic drawing board allows for a multi-sensory approach to work on that goal. Students learn best when they are provided with a fun, sensory engaging, and different alternative that still target the goals. This magnetic drawing board targets that. This product came well packaged and well designed. Love how the magnetic pen is attached to string and cannot get lost. It is also the perfect size to fit in a bag and be transported between multiple schools and classrooms. My students have really enjoyed using this magnetic board as well as myself! Moonkee’s Magnetic Dots Board is very well designed, safe, inspires creativity, and helps children develop their coordination as they guide the magnets to form the design on the picture card or create their own. The Magnetic Dot Board is large and sturdy. The magnets are safely enclosed behind the acrylic panel as children enjoy moving them with the attached stylus. This Magnetic Dots Board includes 10 picture cards double sided and can be easily switched out. The picture cards range from a dog to a butterfly to a house, typical pictures that young children are interested in drawing. I also like how they have educational picture cards like numbers and shapes. I do wish that the Magnetic Dots Board would have included picture cards of the alphabet. Moonkee’s Magnetic Dots Board has been a great addition in my treatment sessions with my students’. I recommend Moonkee’s Magnetic Dots Board to all parents and teachers who are looking for a fun, educational, and engaging activity for children with endless fun.

Moonkee’s Magnetic Board is a multi-use toy. One can use the pen to move the magnet balls to create a picture from the included idea book, practice letters and numbers, or create whatever you want. The included bag of shapes can enhance your picture with the magnet balls or be used on it’s own. This toy reminds me of a Lite-Brite because you can create pictures; however, it’s different in that the pen and magnets are part of the board. The magnets cannot be lost since they are inside of the board. The pen is also attached to the board. The plastic shapes do have their own bag to keep all of the pieces organized. This board supports children’s sensory development. It helps with fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem solving, and sorting. The magnetic beads add a sensory aspect when you push the beads into the board when you are done with the picture. It’s also calming to push the beads into the board. My six year old daughter enjoys playing with the board. She can use the board while traveling in the car instead of using an iPad. She liked using the guidance book for ideas for pictures and sometimes she used her imagination too. I also used the board to create pictures and found it to be fun and relaxing. FYI the magnets do move about the board and this creates some sound. When we were in the car the sound took some getting used to since it was sometimes distracting. I do recommend this toy because it encourages creative drawing with the magnetic beads and shapes and it benefits the child’s sensory development.

As an OT, I’ve found lots of purposes for this fun new magnetic drawing board! Fine motor skills, visual motor skills, sensory/regulation, distraction or positive reinforcement and more. So far my kids have loved both the magnetic aspect and using the shapes to make designs. My only worry is that I learned the shapes are randomly packaged, and think this could be very challenging with kids who have difficulty with rigidity and not being able to complete the picture according to the template. Some of the magnetic balls also randomly fall down when you’re going across the board, but that doesn’t seem like too big of an issue and is an easy fix. Overall, I’m excited to continue integrating this into sessions!

I am an early childhood special education teacher and am always looking for educational tools to use with my students. The magnetic drawing board provides lots of open ended creative play opportunities using the pattern block shapes as well as the blank slate for risk free drawing. Using the stylus is perfect for building my kiddos fine motor muscles, not to mention the pincher grip that is needed to pick up the pattern block pieces. My ASD students love the sound, the feel and all of the sensory feedback provided by the individual magnetic balls and stylus. The fact that it is so easy to travel with is an extra bonus for this itinerant teacher (and parents on the go will appreciate).

Our son (5) is on the spectrum. His most preferred activity is puzzles so we thought this toy would really help with his sensory and motor skills while presented in a fun and engaging way. He took to it immediately, first wanting to watch a grown-up do it and then by doing the magnets himself. He did require some hand over hand in the beginning, though. He enjoys the animals and the shapes best and we work on identification after and naming the colors. Even his sister (2) likes to watch and is engaged in this amazing activity. Would recommend to all kids, not just those on the spectrum. Amazing product!
