Q: Is this visor age to use at night? i.e. How dark is the smoke? I had a light smoke on my Schuberth that was pretty much ok at night

In my opinion YES. I own and use both the CNS-1 light smoke visor and CNS-1 mellow smoke (blue-tint) visor. I find them both suitable for night time riding. If I were to assign a point value to the tint, 1 point being a clear visor and 10 points being the darkest visor available, INMHO the CNS-1 light smoke would get 4 points and the CNS-1 Mellow smoke would receive 5 points. There is a slightly noticeable difference between the tinting, however, combined with a 35w 5000 lumens HID headlight neither visor have caused me any concern while riding at night. I am 100% happy with both visors, and recently purchased two more CNS-1 tinted visors to keep as spares. If you try on and find that it's not for you, you should have absolutely no problem finding another Shoei owner who would gladly purchase it from you for the price you paid for it. Hope this helped.
