Friends: A Love Story by Angela Bassett (2009-02-01) Paperback – January 1, 1706

I love Angela Bassett and even love her more when she and her husband act together. They seem like a well grounded wonderful couple. They are both great actors and it was great how they alternated story telling. So glad to stumble on to this book. Great read. Recommend!

I love the book.

This is an excellent book, especially for couples. The couple recount their time growing up, their college years, and their early careers. They also talk about how they met and how they keep their relationship together, with God's guidance and help. My favorite part is the advice, located in the back, they give to other Christian couples

I really enjoyed reading Angela's contributions. Courtney's grew on me. The book was a thorough journey down the path(s) that led them to become [such] great lovers, and it's a very insightful and candid story. Alot of passion I felt through their recounting, and it even made me look at some things in my own life differently. Would recommend to men and women-- whether single, married, divorced.......or dating! I think it may change the way one looks at the opposite sex [a little bit]--

This book restored my hope in the power of celibacy after the downfall of another powerful Hollywood couples marriage that failed after 9 years. While people say that we should not emulate other marriages, there has to be an example for the world to look up to, ESPECIALLY when the couple claims God as the matchmaker! We overcome by the blood of the lamb and by the word of our testimony (Revelation 12:11)! When we say God has done something and then walk away from what he has said, it says to the world that God ain’t real. Angela and Courtney’s ministry is powerful and real and should be read by both singles and married individuals.

I THROUGHLY ENJOYED READING THIS BOOK. IT CAPTIVATED MY INTEREST THE MOMENT I HELD THE BOOK IN MY HAND, IT'S THE KIND OF LOVE THAT'S RARE, AND ONE THAT U WOULD WAIT AND HOPE FOR IN A LIFETIME. ANGELA AND COURTNEY, REALLY GAVE A BEAUTIFUL EXPRESSION OF HOW THEIR COURTSHIP BLOSSOMED AND TOGETHER THRU THEIR LOVE AND TRUE COMMITTMENT TO EACH OTHER THEY HAVE 2 BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN WHO ARE REPLICAS OF THEIR LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK, IT WILL COMPEL U TO CHERISH YOUR TRUE LOVE, OR HOPE THAT ONE DAY U FIND A SPECIAL SOULMATE WHO COMPLETES YOUR INNER CIRCLE.

This was a phenomenal read. I loved their separate stories and how their lives eventually intertwined once each of them made the decision to work on themselves as individuals and to surrender to God's plans. It was a reminder to me that God is in control, that He has a plan and purpose for each of us, and that He will give us the desires of our hearts. We often blame God for things that haven't happened in our lives, but just maybe God is processing us and getting us to a place where we can receive His best. Thank you, Courtney and Angela for your transparency. You both are wonderfully talented artists and have a refreshing commitment to Christ.

How refreshing to read a beautiful love story between 2 people and they just happen to be actors. Kudos to them for keeping their kids out of the spotlight.
