I've now been using this for over a year and a half, almost daily.It's absolutely fantastic!I've used it to grind both coffee beans and also cocoa beans - the latter is REALLY tough on grinders, most will either fail completely, or after a single grind clog up and require disassembly and full cleaning.In the entire time I've had this, I've disassembled it just twice for a deep clean. It works beautifully, creating extremely even grain sizes dependent on the setting dialed in.I can't say much more - except it just works. Give it a tap when put together - much like a cocktail mixer - this is normal, so the complaints about a poor fit I think are just user error - mine is solid as a rock.The handle feels a tad loose, but this allows a degree of flexibility that makes turning the mechanism so much better!.I have also used an electric grinder that cuts up the beans with blades, compared to this the coffee / cocoa tastes bland, a proper grinding mechanism like this is ALWAYS better.In regards to customer service: A+++++ and my thanks to the team!I had a few queries, firstly about recommended grind settings and then more recently (over a year later), I took it apart for a deep clean and couldn't remember which washer went where (I know!)....Each time, customer services got back to me swiftly with full advice, recommendations, manuals/pdfs and even an image of a disassembled unit with the components to show me exactly how to put it back in one piece.This is NOT an ordinary experience, I had a similar issue with a Kenwood mixer that broke, with pieces of plastic flying everywhere...whilst I could get the replacement parts, Kenwood showed no interest whatsoever in helping me, and said they didn't support home repair assistance.The Groenenberg team are simply fantastic to deal with!

It's a lovely piece of kit. I actually bought this following an accidental purchase of coffee beans and not ground coffee.I didn't want another electric product and wanted something that added to the satisfaction of prepping my coffee.It's compact and easily stored. It looks, in my opinion, stylish. It's simple to use and works really well.

This is a high quality grinder. It works like it should - BUT like some of the hand grinders, you have to hold it together with one hand while grinding with the lever above it. This is awkward and does not help you concentrate on using it effectively. It also move just a little bit in your grip as you grind. So if you are grinding a lot and you aren’t careful it can actually fall off

Initially the product lives up to expectations. The adjustable grind allowed for uniform grinds and even finely ground beans. However, a number of problems exist that has made me feel it is not worth the purchase. Firstly the initial build quality was disappointing with the handle fitted at a wonky angle to the handle arm. The arm of the handle appears to be made from a softer metal than the core it attaches to. Consequently the arm has worn easily from use and has created slack in the movement. On occasion the internal plastic fittings have slipped during use. The manual grind adjustment also slips over time and even during a grind as a coffee bean forces the grinding gears apart. This means the beans have to be reground. Would like to see the ceramic gears replaced with metal and the build quality improved. Fine for occasional use e.g. when travelling.

This looks great, feels great and comes with the usual "bespoke" packaging and flyers. However it does lack in functionality. If you're travelling and drink a cup a day or less than this unit would work for you. If however there are two people drinking two or more cups a day then you're going to get a 5+ minute workout before your morning coffee. It also involves too many steps compared to other units as you have to unscrew the top and take the handle and the cover off separately and then do it all up again. surprisingly it also doesn't have any indication or guide on ground setting and you have to find this for yourself. If you're using both a drip and a plunger that can be tedious. Sadly I am returning this grinder after using it only a few times.

It was a pleasure to use my new coffee grinder this morning, and be able to finely grind coffee beans without the barely tolerate screech of an electric grinder. It used true that it takes more effort and one needs to focus and hold the grinder firmly but, since good coffee is important to me, I do not mind the additional effort. This is a very well made device and it was a joy to use this morning.

I've been searching for a manual coffee grinder for a while now and the model of Groenenberg catched my eye. While unpacking, the beautifully crafted and sturdy packaging really stood out. The Grinder itself looks very chic and is neatly constructed.Of course, my main focus was the grinding result since not all manual coffee grinders get it right. I'm using a french press and therefore set the coarseness setting to a rough setting. The result was absolutely satisfying and very even. You've got to set the coarseness setting by instinct yet it's easy to figure out after a few tries.My conclusion: A great, high quality coffee grinder with an ideal grinding result.
