Happy consumer but learned a lesson...
I have used Manly Guy a dozen times now and I wasn't going to post a review but I changed my mind just recently. I initially purchased this product because the chin area of my beard was very grey... it looked as if I dunked my chin in milk and I wanted to change that. I used the product successfully around a dozen times now and I have been pleased with the results but I wanted to share a lesson I recently learned ... When I use this product on my beard I follow the directions and wrap my beard with plastic wrap for an hour and half. It's uncomfortable and to me that's the worst part. So I came up with what I thought was a great idea and I used one of my wife's moisture face masks instead of the plastic wrap one evening. BAD IDEA. It turned my beard orange. Luckily for me, I re-did my beard again using the contents of the same package and luckily for me it worked and I now have the correct coloring. My reasoning for writing this review now has to do with the negative reviews I have read that stated the product turned the buyer's hair either orange or red and I can't help but wonder if some of those instances occurred because they had used a moisturizing product either on their face or in their hair that changed the chemical composition. I would highly recommend that if you use this product... make sure that the area you are trying to color is completely free of all other chemicals.I would also note that when I use this product on my beard... at first my beard has a greenish tinge to it. It takes me 8 to 12 hours for the color to finally resolve and that's why when I use this product I always do it at night.

Just Horrible
Very difficult to use… Instructions were not clear… Product was inferior to others… I didn’t even take the time to return it, I threw it in the garbage!

Not recommended read my review.
Where do begin? I got this because chemically treating my beard was becoming too harsh.Well this product is much more intense to apply.Basically you follow the instructions for beard coloring and apply the pancake like batter to your beard. Then you wrap your beard in saran wrap and wait 1.5 to 3 hours before taking it off.I did 1.5 hours which was not easy to do for a guy and my wife just laughed it off. Then you rinse out.My grey hears turned more into red and the color was very much noticeable and not discreet.I will say it definitely colors your beard but I did not like that the light brown came out more like Red over all.I must say it was an embarrassing week at work. But I kept the color on and a week later it's finally not so obvious.I will not use again and don't recommended. I am thinking of going back to chemicals for rethinking how I apply it so that it's not so harsh on my skin.

No skin burns, but unnatural color
I experimented with this because I have an almost white beard that does not match my head and had been using Just For Men, which caused me to have bad burns after using it for several years. The product takes a lo-o-o-o-o-ng time to "take"--over 2-1/2 hours and it still stings my skin while it is on, although I had no burns after I removed it. It goes on green--which is a little disconcerting. My disappointment was that the hair turns into a strange combination of orange, black, and green. Mind you that my natural hair color was reddish to begin with, but the orange hue is a little unnatural. It was uneven, but that may have been due to my inexperienced application method.I would suggest wearing tighter fitting surgical gloves for the application so you can control it better. The gloves provided are just too flimsy and loose and they tend to get stuck with the product making application difficult and uneven.I will likely try it again being more careful with evenness of application. The main reason is that I have been able to make my skin clearer with no burns.

Excellent but plan a head!
The results were excellent and no irritation at all like the itch I get from Just for Men product-these were used on my beard. It's not a quick 5-10 min job like JFM, and recommends 2-3 hours for the first application to take the color-future application times can be reduced. After reading that, I knew the timing would be important-I chose a lazy saturday morning reading news, surfing the net....having coffee. Just plan ahead and you'll manage, and be glad you did when you see the results. I used light brown for my beard, and got a really natural look and some hightlights/variation in the right places and gave an awesome healthy beard look-not scorched or dry and brittle felling....like dyed hair! The directions give advice to use the gloves, cap, etc. but for my beard, I just mixed two tablespoons in a small glass, add water to pancake batter thickness and stir smooth....easy. I didn't mess with the gloves and cap, I just used the JFM brush and applied thickly-all the hairs have to be coated, and of course the gray ones are stubborn and stick out, so check those wiry ones and plaster then down. It's not a mess as you would imagine, keep a rag handy and don't spazz out around the house and you'll be fine. Makes a mess is the shower but washes down. I you have a place out back on the patio, and hose it off in the yard would be perfect, no shampoo needed to rinse off, and notrecommended for 24 hours-I shampooed my head of course. Colored everything and was happy with my look-I would think if you want more of a touch of gray-let the gray ones pop out and don't recoat.

Complete waste of money!!!
The instructions are provided after you open the package and it can no longer be returned. You have to keep it on a minimum of 1.5 hours wearing a hair net to keep it moist if using on your head. If you are using it on your mustache, you need to keep it moist by misting it. Oh yeah, it also has to be caked on so that all hair is completely covered. Imagine this picture....packing a paste on your mustache thick enough to cover all hair completely and sitting with a mist bottle for over an hour and a half keeping it moist. Ridiculous product and a waste money!
