Excellent Medium pads, plus training advice for first-time dog owners
These Medium pads are excellent for small and medium size dogs. They are absorbent and similar in size to "regular" size dog pads. They have a pale pink edging which is easy on the eye. No scent, thank goodness. I use five to cover my bathroom floor. Not wasteful as she usually uses one at a time, occasionally two. I also use four covering a spot she was initially having accidents at, especially if she was shy because I was in the bathroom or shower. A second use for the pads is if your dog has an accident on the floor or even carpet, place a pad face down over the puddle, then step on the pad to soak it up. (In the case of the carpet, do repeatedly until it is all soaked up.) I also keep on hand "Nature's Miracle Just for Cats Litter Box Odor Destroyer, Unscented" which despite the name is an excellent enziyme spray to clean any pet or baby smell off of floors or color-fast fabrics. Fantastic for pet or human urine, feces, blood, food spills, grass stains, etc. Good on carpet too, provided the carpet is color-fast. (Test first.)Training techniques: 1. On a walk, dip a small spot of a clean pad into your dog's puddle, then place that pad in the house with other overlapping pads, where doggie is most likely to go next time. Act "joyous" on finding the dog used the pad(s): "Oh my goodness, Buster went potty! What a good boy!" and then give the dog a small treat. This joy-and-treat only applies to the pads, not the usual potty on walks. I have had my rescue dog for eight years now, and she still loves the joy-and-treat ritual. In fact she comes and tells me when she has gone potty by wagging her tail, and then follows me excitedly while I walk down the hall for the joyous "discovery". She still loves my apparent surprise! 2. Another training technique will only work if your neighbors don't mind 3-5 days of barking while the training takes place. About 5-6 hours after a walk, put your dog in the bathroom for awhile, checking on doggie until he/she has gone potty on the pad(s) covering the floor. Then follows the joy-and-treat, and being let out again. At first of course the dog has no idea what is going on and may bark or whine for hours. Owner is soothing but sticks to plan. After a few times doggie makes the connection and will go potty quickly. After a few of these successes, just leave the bathroom door open and hopefully doggie will go there voluntarily when he has the need.Miscellaneous notes for first-time dog owners: Leg-lifting dogs: most figure out not to lift their leg while using a pad. But if you have one determined to do this, protect your walls by putting a couple of "fire hydrants" in place: small paper sandwich bags with a small weight inside on the edge of the pad. Hopefully doggie will eventually get over this habit. Don't ever punish a dog for having an "accident". Especially a rescue dog has probably gone through punishment and even cruelty. Just bring them to the accident site (no nose pushing), express disappointment calmly, and then bring doggie to the pad location and stroke the pad saying here is where to go potty. Also if there is frequent urination, leaving only a small spot, he/she probably has a bladder infection and should be seen by a vet ASAP. Doggie is probably in severe pain.

5 stars 🌟 and above
I have tried all brands to see which one works best and these are them. They are thick and do not go through. I continue to purchase these and have been for almost a year now. Highly recommend!

Rabbit litter box
I use the pads in the rabbits litter box. They make it easier for their daily cleaning and absorb most of the urine. It would nice if the padding went all the way to the end.

Super absorbent no leaks
I bought these pads as the ones I was using were not very absorbent, urine ran over the sides and onto the floor so I still had to mop up. These pads are so absorbent as soon as little Terrie begins to urinate it drinks it in. Also odor absorbing. Have been able to fold over where she used it and still plenty of room for her to use it again.
