Broken LED
It looks nice, I like the design, but the wooden pieces don't slot together tightly. I was not expecting to have to glue the entire thing.Additionally, one of the LEDs is broken, and I don't even know if I can return it in this state. A little disappointing after everything I've put into it so far, I was about 2/3 finished.

Some big pros and cons
Pros, cute layout and it opens so you can see more details close and personal. Easy to assemble over all. Cons, fabric cover is not great, the most frustrating was the lighting doesn't work due to a broken light unit.

LED battery pack kit broken
If I hadn't done a different book nook kit just before this one, it would have received a higher rating. Unlike the other one, where every piece fit together tightly with just pressure, no glue needed, this one had to have EVERY SINGLE PIECE glued together, and ended up taking ke weeks to complete. Foolishly, I didn't test the movement sensor/LED pack before starting to put the nook together. Got ready to install the light and...nothing. I wrote the vendor to see if I could get a replacement for just the light and...nothing. A tiny piece, about the size of a grain of sand, had fallen off the electrical board that had to be micro-soldered back on. I was lucky enough to notice the piece loose when opening the bag the light came in, and saved it just in case. Some deep dives into forums later saw a complaint exactly like mine which identified a piece missing from the circuit board. A trip to a phone repair shop confirmed this was the problem, and they told me for $40 they would try to fix it, no promises. It worked! But buyer beware, I'm not the first person this happened to.

Adorable!!!!!!!
This item takes some work to put together. If you're familiar with these kinds of DIY sets, you make everything with the included items. You will need glue though so pick your favourite kind. Maybe a pair of tweezers too.Sit down, put on a movie or music and chill out while you get crafting. The end result is worth it. This isn't as difficult a set as some others out there.

Awesome project, know what you’re getting into
I got the Japanese alleyway. This project took me 2 months to finally get around to because I was busy with finals. I procrastinated starting it because I opened the box and was overwhelmed with the complexity! I finally started it this summer and finished it within a week. Once I got started it was easy to get into the groove of it. Be prepared, it is going to take you quite a while! First thing I’ll say is you need to buy your own glue, the kit doesn’t come with any. I got a cheap wood glue and it worked fine. I also used hot glue and tape for the wiring. Also, for the kit I got, the intrusions suck, but luckily there was an awesome YouTube tutorial that helped a lot with wiring it. I’m going to buy another kit from this brand because I loved it so much! The photos don’t show what it will look like from the front once it’s finished very well, but imo it doesn’t look as good as when it’s opened up, because you can’t see any of the little details you worked so hard on! I liked it just to have something cool to work on as a summer project. Get it if you like detaily tedious projects and have a lot of time on your hands!
