Love, Death, Fame: Poetry and Lore from the Emirati Oral Tradition

As all the dual-language books by the Library of Arabic Literature, this is a great edition with both the Arabic text and an excellent English translation. It is great for readers of English interested in pre-modern Arabic literature and for students of Arabic language and literature making the classical Arabic more accessible through parallel English translation for easy reference.The Arabic in this book is not standard or classical Arabic but colloquial Arabic of the Arabian Peninsula. The dialect is not easily accessible so the English translation is welcome. It would have been great if there had been downloadable audio to hear the poems being recited as this is an oral tradition that needs to be enjoyed with audio.
