Ineffective Sharpening Tool
The sandy powdered material comes off continuously as you sharpen. The process feels somewhat like you are shaving off chips from a wooden stick. Not satisfactory at all. A waste of money.

Could have done without the base
Overall impression - don't buy it if you are going to use it frequently. It's costlier than some other products, just because a base was added. The base wasn't useful and is annoying.The stone is as described, but I thought the base wouldn't be such a tight fit. I had to push the stone out to be able to use the bottom for finer honing of knife. Also, the stone chips everytime it is removed/re-fitted with the base.I found it annoying to remove and re-fit the stone in base, every time I needed to use the flip side. I am using the stone without the base. Personally, maybe the base could have been a little more lose in fit.

The stone is of very very poor quality... stone is just crumbling away like sand ... layer after layer
