Q: How many decks of cards does it hold?

It will hold about 2 and 1/2 decks

Q: Does it take standard size cards?

Yes It does take standard six playing cards!.

Q: Does it really work as well as described in the advertisement?

It was a gift for my dad and he really liked it. He asked me where I purchased it and he wanted to give a few to his friends.

Q: Does it only deal cards one by one or can you set it to deal a whole hand before moving on to the next?

I'm sorry I'm not really sure. We use it to deal 1 card at a time. I'll see if I can figure it out later today and if you can do one hand completely I'll get back to you. I never used it myself, I let everyone else deal with it. But let me look. If you don't hear back from me today you will know I still can't figure it out. I usually have the card games on Friday but am out of town this Friday so I won't be with the players until next week. Sorry
