Quick setup, accurate speed, happy hockey enthusiast
I recently got the radar gun for a friend who’s a hockey enthusiast. He’s been using it almost daily to track the progress of his shot.Being both a numbers guy and competitive, this device allows him to save his best 10 shots and track progress over time. It’s good to sense you’re improving, but by how much over what period of time has really motivated him.Really took no time at all for him to set it up and get going. From what he can tell, the device takes accurate measurements and the information on each shot is immediately available to him (good and bad shots, haha).Glad to make a friend happy with a new tool in his hockey bag.

It's OK
It's a nice product, it gives you an idea of how fast your shot might be, but I feel like it might lack some consistency. Also, depending on your setup finding the right place to put it so it accurately measures your shot speed can be difficult.

Very affordable speed/radar for a fixed area of measurement
Comes with two tripods. One for the unit and one for your phone where you can download an app from Apple or Google store to represent speed there, and track your progress. What I found was that it needed to be somewhat close to what it was measuring, like this is not something you'd put 10 feet away and expect it to work. Thus, set it up behind the net to protect it, but also it should register ok.I would have loved for this to have a bit more range, thus be applied to other sports much easier. You can adopt it but again it needs to be near the flight of whatever it is. Again, I'm wishing for outside the boundaries of what this product was designed to do.Nice touch that it comes with two tripods and does have phone app support. Also, USB charged - comes with USB charging cable. Lasts a decent amount of time on a full charge - up to 8 hours.Oh, the app also has a game mode for battling on speed.

Disappointing
Love the idea of hands free radar, we tried it for our hockey shot in the garage and on the ice. We learned that in the garage it was too close quarters and it routinely picked up the stick rather than the puck. We took it to the ice and found no matter where we placed it or the angle we could not get it to give us consistent speed reads on shot. The numbers were inconsistent when it did pick up the puck, which was less than 50% of the time.We returned it within a week to find they only gave us partial refund and an amazon gift card for the rest.

Must-Have Speed Gun for Hockey Players
This speed gun is a great tool for both on-ice practice and dryland training. The kids love challenging themselves to beat their previous records. If you're serious about hockey training, this radar gun is a fantastic addition!

Easy Set up
Had a blast in setting up and recording my shot speed. Made a game out of it to constantly trying to beat my previous speed, great at helping my shooting technique to increase my overall shooting power.

Stick speed vs puck speed
Love all the features it comes with. Can't figure out how to get it to stop measuring stick speed and start measuring puck speed.

Works as expected, accurate shot readings at a fair price
OK, let me start by saying I actually ordered this hoping I may luck out and it would work for a totally different purpose.I own and run a Karate school, and I was hoping against hope that this may be able to measure punch or kick speed, to both test myself but more importantly it would have been an awesome add-on to my karate classes allowing the students to measure their actual speed, however as I guessed it would not work at all for that purpose. I'm assuming the distance needed is the factor, and a punch or kick only travels a few feet, not enough for this unit to get a read on it, so it would not work at all for that purpose, but as I mentioned that is not what this was designed for.I then gave it to my son to take to hockey practice, this was my backup plan if it didn't work at my Karate School, and when used for its designed purpose it worked perfectly. He set it up behind the net, more to protect the unit from errant shots than for anything else, and the players took turns measuring their slap shots and wrist shots, it was an instant hit.
