My big dog (46kg) used to eagerly await the postman and very aggressively shoulder barge the door, pulling the post in. I was very concerned for the posties safety so got one of these. It stood up to a good shoulder barge the first couple of days but the dog soon realised that hurt, he doesn’t really bother at all now about the postman and post is kept safe. Also stops him jumping up at the door. Very sturdy cage, easy to install & good price

Good quality letter cage, attached it to my PVC door using white plastic hooks with adhesive backs, 2 at the top, 2 at the bottom. Command Brand. Damage free hanging, micro hooks, has 3M written in the right bottom corner of packet. 3 in a packet, so need to by 2 packs. Can be purchased from Homebase, also available at wicks and B&Q. Holds firm and isn't very visible so no drilling required. Adhesive hooks can be removed if cage no longer required. Cage arrived well packaged with hanging instructions and screws/plugs supplied. Very pleased.

This item came as described and was so easy to fit, it only took one more visit from the postman for our dog to realise she could no longer get to the post, from our postman knocking to tell us he was going on holiday for 2 weeks and that unbeknown to us, our dog had been called the worse dog on the round, and that no other postman would deliver to our house while he was away, meaning that we would have to go and collect our mail every day till he came back, it was this that prompted the purchase and now our dog doesn't even bother barking when the post comes because she knows she is wasting her time. This was one of the best purchases I ever made thank you, I would recommend this item to anyone and an extra bonus is no more bending for the post its win win every way :)

My slightly dysfunctional dog likes to chew anything made of paper and cardboard, so you can imagine the fear we had when ever we left the house before the postman had been. I had been meaning to buy one of these for ages but always put it off. I wish I had purchased sooner. This is a decent size to fit anything the postman chucks through without the dog having an early snack. It is quite large, but the smaller ones just mean the post ends up sticking out of the letterbox. Which is no good when it rains. Comes with everything you need to fit it, just need your screwdriver and away you go

No good for doors with mouldings as the brackets not long enough, will have to in our case adapt the cage to fit so beware and check style if door before purchasing

Arrived really quickly but not as in picture. The one I goy is several greyish colour panels held together with big ugly silver clips. If my husband hadn't opened it and threw away the package it would defo be going back. So surprised cause if all the good reviews because mine looks nothink like the picture. It looks cheap and ugly Will now have to buy another one from different site.

This letterbox certainly is big enough but it definitely is an eyesore. I have the uk standard letterbox size and attached this to our pvc door.I am surprised hardly any of the reviews fail to mention that whatever post is put through the letter box ends up being stuck halfway through because the cage is does not have enough horizontal depth.This is not so much a letter catcher I would rather call it a letter blocker. Even small envelopes can't be fully posted through the letterbox as they get caught on the back of the cage. Disappointed.

Got this for a UPVC door, saw various questions asking about use on this type of door but it screws in fine with good screws. Only problem is that these doors are often not flat, with contoured panels sticking out so my solution was using spacers (I used the white blocks that look like lego which are used for fixing the inside panels of adjoining cupboard sides together, and they are just right). Obviously the screws will leave a mark in the door if removed but anything will. There is the possibility to glue these spacers to the door but that would still leave some mark if removed. One possible problem with this cage is if you have very inquisitive tall dogs that could open the top without it having a catch but I've not had that problem. All in all a good sized item, anything smaller would be a problem for large envelopes for A4 size letters etc so don't go for smaller ones. Item was delivered promptly too.
