Marine Biology: A Very Short Introduction

This book is an excellent introduction to the basics of marine biology. It condenses a large volume of information in a few hundred pages without losing any important details and clarity. The language used is simple enough and concise. Illustrations support the more vital topics. It has helped me greatly in understanding more advanced concepts in marine biology though i must admit that i am a graduate in biological sciences.I have subtracted a star as those who have no knowledge of science may have to read the book twice to grasp some of the details.

It's a small volume but superbly written by a knowledgeable and involved expert. I could not recommend it more highly for anyone who wants to have an overall and general understanding of marine biology. It would also be an excellent introduction for someone thinking of studying at degree level.
