Primeval Series 1 – 5 Box Set [DVD]

Bought as a present for a horror movie friend

I never saw Series 4 and 5 and the rest not for a long time. What a wonderful reminder this box set is! I had forgotten the amazing (for TV and the time it was made) CGI/SFX. They truly are exceptional and pretty scary. The locations both on the streets and inside the "arc" are also impressive. Then there is the casting. So right! The lead man changed 3 times and it still worked - Henshall, then Fleming, then McMenamin (hopefully correct spelling), all different and all worked well. The ladies...and what ladies - Juliet Aubrey (what a great "Milady de Winter" she would have made), Lucy Brown, Laila Rouass, Ruth Bradley, Ruth Kearney - all exactly right. Then the only 3 constants - Hannah Spearitt (who may have had "will appear in brief underwear" in her contract for series 1 and 2), Andrew Lee-Potts and finally lovely Ben Miller. The writers deserve real credit for their imagination, and the directors for the frenetic pace of pretty well every episode. Suitable for all, except perhaps the very young? It is a 12 Cert. Great entertainment and an almost forgotten classic.

A classic, underrated and well made series, but perhaps a little bit too long.this story follows the lives of a group of people investigating a new series of unnatural events around an anomaly that either goes backwards or fowards in time, essentially a wormhole to a different time, they work to try to figure out why this is happening and the best way to stop them from bringing harm to the population.As stated the main issue with this series is how long it goes on for, it primarily follows the lives of helen and nick cutter, both are scientests both working on the mystery of the anomalies, but in their own ways, they both tie in towards the end and it comes to this conclusion that you will see that would have been a neat bow on the story and a great place to end itthe issue is (at least I) feel that it shouldn't have gone on past this, but it did I feel for the persuasion of money, and we get another story that feels a bit more rushed a long where they try to harness the anomalies for their energy, this wasn't nessissary, we have seen the trying to harvest something for power plotline not a lot of times sure but it still feels like it didn't have any real impact on the original story.in conclusion, seasons 1 to 3 are great, the rest just feel unnessissary and like padding to an already rather neatly finished story, sure the rest of the story follows Conor and abbey to finish their story arc, but I still feel like they were also fine being left off where they were.7.5/10

i thought that this was an amazing boxset. definitely worth the money! I would recommend it to anyone with kids around the age of 10. unless you listen to the rating which is 12. Any way i got this for my son who thought that it was amazing and it is all he has watched for the past 2 weeks.The whole thing is amazing also it comes with a 3d cover which i thought was very cool. If you haven't seen the primeval tv series. Here is a rough description.Primneval is about a group of people who fight dinosaurs that come through rips in time called anomolies. Here is a list of the people who are in it:series 1: Nick cutter , Steven , Connor temple, Abbi , Claudia brown and james leicster who runs the head office {ARC).series 2: Jenny Lewis , Nick Cutter , Connor Temple , Abbi , James leicster and Link also Helen.series 3: Nick Cutter (episodes 1-3) Danny Quinn , Sarah, Connor , Abbi , Becker , and james leicster also helen.i will finish my review there but you can find out who the characters are as you watch it. A very good all round boxset 11/10!

JUST STARTED WATCHING SERIES 1 OF THE SET.ENJOYING THE SHOW SO FAR.LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO BE INTERESTING AND THE GRAPHICS OF THE CREATURES ARE WELL DONE.VERY PLEASED WITH MAKING MY PURCHASE THROUGH RAREWAVES AND CONFIDENT IN FUTURE PURCHASES.

Ich kannte die Serie nicht und hatte mir nur kurze Ausschnitte auf YouTube angesehen bevor ich die komplette Box bestellt habe. Ich bin völlig begeistert und habe mir die komplette Box 3x hintereinander angeschaut. Die Serie hat Humor und jede Menge Action. Außerdem ist es mal eine völlig andere, sehr originelle Idee: Ein Team von Wissenschaftlern dass sich beschäftigt mit plötzlich erscheinenden Dinosauriern die aus einem anderen Jahrtausend in die heutige Zeit katapultiert werden. Natürlich ist die Regierung bemüht um dafür zu sorgen dass diese unerklärlichen Phänomene vor der Öffentlichkeit verborgen bleiben.

Serie de culto muy difícil de conseguir. Por ponerle un pero estaría bien que por lo menos tuviera subtítulos en castellano ya que el audio es en inglés.
