I was a little hesitant going into this. I looked at all sorts of lava lamps and reviews seemed a little mixed on all of them. My lamp worked just fine, no issues with wax or heating. It looks beautiful I couldn't be happier with it. My only complaint is the metal pieces had a weird texture to them and it left a bit of grease or something on my fingers. It wasn't a big deal though. Overall great lava lamp and it made me reminisce the times I had with my lava lamp when I was but a boy.

Edit: I am very sad to report that after 5 or so months my lava lamp has had a mental breakdown and decided to look horrible and act very weird. I was loving this thing since I got it hence the original great review. However, it's been 5 months and it looks awful now. It wasn't dropped or moved at all, the temperature in my home is pretty steady throughout the year so I don't know what went wrong. All of a sudden the 'lava' started sticking to the glass so bad. Like it was trying to get going but something was making it crawl up the glass instead. Have found tons of little blobs just torally stuck to the side and they never melt off or anything. I included a few photos to try and explain better what I'm talking about. Maybe this is user error or some extremely rare issue but just a.warning that it may look amazing for a while and then decide at random to sabotage your viewing experience. No idea!Original review:I was nervous about this item because all the reviews on these lamps are very hit or miss. Thankfully mine was a huge hit. It works slightly differently than the OG lava lamp, seems like different stuff inside. That's not bad at all, just a little different. When it gets going it looks so cool! I really like the multi-colored glass because it makes the blobs look like they're color shifting as they move around. All in all the price was right and I have been very impressed with this cool little thing since I got it set up.

The media could not be loaded. Super cool design of hot lava. The lamp is very beautiful! My fav mix of colors for a lamp because it gives off a warm vibe. Very vibrant colors and the wax color stands out unlike other colors which seems more camouflaged. So the wax changes color as it moves up from deep orange to kind of yellow. The liquid is purple.Base and top is like aluminum material not heavy But jar is heavier. Has switch to turn on/off. Cannot adjust brightness. Suggest you buy separate timer for outlet for the convenience of automatic shut off with everyday use.I bought this to put on the room I got set up at my house for my granddaughters oh and they love it, I had one growing up in my bedroom and love it, it makes you feel calm to look at it.It took about under 1 hour to fully melt but I saw wax move within 40 minutes as a thicker chunk. Be careful not to shake it during transport or during set up.Box comes with everything you need to use it right away :)) Great gift for men/women & kids of course. Hot to the touch and can tip over since its tall so beware. Height-wise it is about 13.5”. Width is a bit about 3.5”. Highly recommend this old school lava lamp.

My daughter likes to use her lava lamp as a nightlight and it actually works great. It soothes her uneasy emotions as well as helping her sleep more peacefully. The light shines on the orange wax/purple liquid, as the wax is heated, the wax floats to the top, and then slowly sinks continuously yet slowly moving up and down the lamp. The glass bottle seems to have volcanic magma flowing which produces a changing effect of enteral light and shadow movement. It was very easy to install my daughter did it all by herself at 8 years old (after I pulled it in for her of course).

The quality is not great, it is a sticker that creates the color. There are scratches and scuffs on the sticker and it does not stand very stable. Aside from that, it looks cool from a distance and overall alright quality for the price.

This is the 4th one I have ordered, worked great for a bout a month then some how must have gotten air inside the tube. I bought it for my Science class, can use it.

Bought this for my daughter for Christmas but the light bulb came broken so haven’t had the full experience of the lamp yet. Be careful opening the box.
