Easy to assemble. Good instructions. Correct parts. Well made.

First of all, the instructions were terrible. They completely left out a part that was not even mentioned in the very thin instructions. Both the mill and the rail system had the same issue. It was as though the writer worked on the instructions for a while and then went to a coffee break and never returned to finish them. Use the instructions that you have, take your time and expect to make a few mistakes. After assembling the parts I watched a couple of U-Tube videos that suggested using loctite on a few nuts to keep them from vibrating loose. I did this and as a result had no problem. It seems like they could use a better locking system for all of the nuts. It was also suggested that the rail system was not very useful. That reviewer stated that he would have simply used a 2x6 instead. I first tried to use the rail system but the leveling screws vibrated loose and the hooks that are supposed to be driven into the wood to hold the rails in place either had to be driven too far into the log or they interfered with the saw mill. Instead I tacked a 2x6 to the log leveled it using shims, and then mounted the rail system to the 2x6. I used the holes meant for the leveling screws to be used instead for the screws to hold the rail system to the 2x6. Using the 2x6 and the rail system together worked great because the rails allowed the mill to slide easier and they were a little wider than the 2x6 alone. Since I screwed the rails to the 2x6 I was able to remove the hooks from the rail system and get them out of the way. It was much more stable and worked better than the rail system or a 2x6 alone. After the first cut you don't use the rail system. The mill slides along the flat surface you made with the first cut. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the system worked. The boards that were produced were very straight and level. I cut them a little thicker than I wanted because I thought I would have to do a lot of leveling and smoothing but It was not necessary. I could have made the cuts much thinner and gotten a couple of additional boards from each log. Although they could have done a better job with the instructions and they could have used locking nuts on a few of the connections I am otherwise very pleased with the quality of the mill and the results I was able to obtain.

The guide is a must and the easy to reuse spikes hold it in place well. 4 stars due to the bar bolts being short due to the need to double nut them or they vibrate loose causing a dull chain and sparks. Other than that I’d buy it again.

Could you try and actually write instructions on how to assemble and what about how to use the product you sell. Everyone is supposed to go look up someone else using the product to know how. Maybe some information on how to install the chainsaw in the unit. This product doesn't come with any know how just some pictures and very few sentences. Overall huge consumption on time to figure all components out. Not sure how safe it is to use since the instructions are a fail. Not so pleased with the mill.

Well built easy to use and accurate

Inexpensive way to learn woodworking,built strong and lightweight,good instructions, polished aluminum look!

My husband does projects with the trees that we cut down and needed a larger more durable and useful piece of equipment and this is exactly that. As soon as he got it out of the box he had just a little bit of trouble putting it together due to the instructions being kind of vague but he figured it out and then he began his project and said that this was great and very easy to use.He would definitely recommend this.

I found that the bolts would vibrate loose. I fixed that with larger diameter carriage bolts.
