The large birds can’t easily access this feeder so the smaller birds actually have a chance to enjoy eating. I get a lot of cow birds, starlings, and grackles and they can’t easily perch on this feeder. It’s also very easy to clean, which is super important to keep birds healthy.

Very pleased with this bird feeder. My all time favorite. I use peanuts and black sunflower seeds. Birds love it, especially the perches.

This is a solidly built feeder, all metal, roof hangs out beyond the feeding area. Maybe a bit smaller than it appears in the pictures. Noted to hold 3.8 lb of seed. I use black oil seed. The feeder holds only 1lb 10 oz of that. My only "complaint" is that the mesh holes seem just a bit too small for the birds to get a seed out. They have to use the tray holes mostly. Chickadees seem able to get a seed out, but the goldfinches and titmice don't seem be able to. Otherwise a great feeder.

I love to see up to 6 birds eating together comfortably. Easy to fill, clean.

The top half collapses and the lid doesn't raise high enough to clear the top so seeds cannot easily slide into it. Therefore a lot of seeds miss the feeder. Why did they design the top half to fall down? Awkward and nearly impossible for one person to completely fill this feeder. Good grief--do they have anyone who actually uses bird feeders test these things for practical use?! Super frustrating because the manufacturing is really good. Design is dumb.

Great design. It could use a few minor improvementtweaks, but overall it is great.

Some reviewers said top part of feeder would collapse unless feeder was already hung. I had no problem filling entire feeder by removing top and holding with one hand. Bought this as a peanut feeder because the two expensive ones I had (supposedly guaranteed for life) fell apart and company doesn't really replace. They only send parts which are complicated to put together. We filled this inexpensive feeder with shelled, roasted peanuts which birds can access by sitting on perches at feeding portals. Almost impossible to find a feeder with mesh large enough for woodpeckers to pull the peanuts through the holes. Hopefully, this will work and birds will like it!
