A Must-Read for Anyone Stepping into Adulthood
As a young adult who has recently moved out, I have been looking for a guide to help me navigate the challenges of adulthood. Adulting For Beginners by N.M. Hill has exceeded my expectations and more. The book covers a wide range of topics that are essential for anyone who wants to live independently, manage their money, and build a successful career. The book starts by acknowledging that adulting can be challenging. It's not uncommon to feel anxious about studies, work, or life in general. However, the author provides practical advice on how to overcome these challenges and become a grown-up with wisdom and confidence. One of my favorite parts of the book is the section on mental and physical health. The author explains the link between the two and provides tips on how to take care of your well-being. The section on cooking is also fantastic, especially for someone like me who's still learning. I appreciate the simple and easy meals with five ingredients or less that I can cook on my own.The emergency and maintenance sections are broad but give nice overviews. The confidence a person gets from knowing something in an emergency cannot be overstated. I also appreciate the career development section, which provides a step-by-step guide to establishing oneself and achieving success at work. This book is a must-read for anyone who wants to equip themselves with the necessary life skills to thrive in adulthood. It's direct, informative, and educational. The nice images that are in the interior and the lovely layout of the book make it easy to read and understand. After reading this book, I feel more confident in my ability to handle the challenges of adulthood. I highly recommend it to anyone who's stepping into adulthood, whether you're a college student, young adult, or someone living on your own for the first time. It's a great guidebook that you can pick up and read at your leisure.

A Great Resource!
This would be a good book to read and then keep on hand. I think it would be a good prep for moving out on your own as a young person. It would also be good to keep on hand in order to look up certain things that may have slipped a young person’s mind. It’s good to be prepared for as many potential situations as possible. There’s no telling when a question or problem may arise that you know is contained within the book’s pages, and you just need to look it up. This book is a wealth of information and advice at your fingertips. Here you have everything from household advice to road emergencies covered.I highly recommend this book for any young person moving out on their own for the first time. It is truly a treasure of valuable information.

Simplistic but Helpful
Whenever I review a book I look at the entire work, paying as much attention to writing, editing and formatting as well as content. In this regard "Adulting for Beginners" was a good work. I found it researched, written well, and compiled in an attractive presentation. But overall, I found it overly simplistic, even for a beginner guide for young adults. This book covered nearly everything a young adult needs to know - from recipes to helping a choking victim, and even included tips on repairing drywall. Unfortunately, there was no rhyme nor reasoning to the organization, lumping most of those things in one chapter. It was not organized from the perspective of the reader, so retrieval won't be easy when the user needs to pick up the book, flip to the needed skill, and get to work. Worse, everything it covered is readily assesible on the internet, something the younger generation will us as the primary go to when they need to do these things. All of that critical stuff said, it was a good book and will be very usefull for many. I just wish information retrieval was given more thought when writing. From a practical standpoint this book was a good idea, and I think it will make a great gift for a housewarming, graduation, or moving out gift. It's certainly a great stocking-stuffer.

Pleasantly surprised
Many books like this are too simple and gems are hidden throughout.I thought the introduction started out with great advice (finding out where you are) -- but then Chapter 1 jumps right into practical advice with food and even has storage times for foods. These are items to use for the rest of you life and make your life easier. The emergency and maintenance sections are broad but give nice overviews. The confidence a person gets from knowing something in an emergency cannot be overstated. I liked the topics chosen.Instead of career, I would have gone differently, but if you want to be an adult in this society, the advice is spot on it's the advice I followed. It does however lead to unbalanced work life balance, but does work.Recommended as a night stand or end table book to pick up at your liesure.

Great asset for teens
Moving away from home to live independently can sometimes be challenging. This book is a great asset for young adults facing that challenge. There are lots of practical tips to get them started from cooking, money management and lots more so as not to start from a blank page or rely on mom and dad. A great asset indeed.

Crisis-mode turned beast-mode...
Before I picked this book up, I had to ask myself a hard hitting question... "Damien, if you are thirty-something years old, are you still a young adult?". Let's face it, the answer is probably no but that doesn't mean that the information in this book didn't help me. You know the phrase "Common sense isn't always common practice"? Well N M Hill's new book makes common sense, make sense (Even if that sentence is a mouthful). There is a note very early on in the book that struck a cord with me. "Adulting doesn't suck. It's all about about doing it right." And it's true. Haven't you had a terrible day that was fixed by a knee-slapping home cooked meal? The book empowers you to learn new (or hone current) life skills and makes you see things through different eyes. It's aimed at the younger collage leaver but it most certainly helped this thirty-something year old who had lost his way a little.

Great gift for late teens/early 20’s
Whilst navigating the complicated road to raising teenage children, I happened upon this book, it has helped immensely in terms of me being able to offer practical advice - or just handing them the book and pointing to certain chapters when they feel I am unable to understand/empathise (since I am from the Stone Age apparently). All in all, a great read for a pivotal stage in human life. Will be purchasing some more and gifting to my nieces/nephew when I feel they are at the right stage for it.
