The media could not be loaded. Very pleased with this product works great. Good value yes. I can clean the feeder easily but some may find it more difficult than others. Size wise great. I personally fill it with peanuts and it attracts a variety of birds like Great Tits and the Great Spotted Woodpecker. I really enjoy watching the birds feed from this feeder and seeing those pesky squirrels struggle. All in all a quality bird feeder.

Does what it needs too, keeps the pesky squirrels at bay and the birds love it including woodpeckers, great-tits and blue-tits. Big capacity means filling only once a week where previous ones were every day at certain times of year. Well built and a well thought out solution, just needs to be made affordable. Would have thought aluminium would have made it lighter, more affordable and avoid the need for painting so should be cheaper to manufacture? Needs a challenger in the marketplace to make them affordable. Birds would love me to buy another but not happening at that price!

This is a pricy thing, and I wouldn't have bought it if "my" grey squirrel hadn't destroyed three so-called squirrel-proof peanut feeders in as many weeks. The look of thwarted rage and bemusement on Mr Tufty's face as he struggles and fails to extract so much as a tiny crumb of peanut from this feeder makes it worth every penny. Seems to be stoutly made and exceeds my expectations!

This is for the peanut version.It works well and has completely stopped visits from the tree rats. I have one issue hence the loss of a star, is that the nuts seem to get stuck in the tube and it requires regular tap or two to get them to fall into the port area. To be fair I am not sure if it’s the nuts themselves (there are not a lot of skins on them) or an issue with damp in the feeder. It’s also super expensive compared to the same item last year.

Had this for quite a few years now. Still going strong. The squirrels did find a way (eventually) to get to the food but I found putting the hanging piece at the top through a plastic pot holder made it really hard for them to access it, so all is well. Highly recommend. Felt sorry for the squirrels so ended up feeding them separately!!

This is most definitely NOT a squirrel buster and the squirrels in my garden have done this in less than a year. They have previously undone the nut at the bottom but not broken it beyond repair. This is also not the first time this has happened in a very short time as previously happened with my seed feeder in less than a year, which was also the same Squirrel Buster type, made by the same company and sold by Amazon.They need to manufacture this to a higher specification if it is to be sold as advertised or just remove "Squirrel Proof Bird Feeder" because it is anything but.

I purchased this item & also the SB Classic. Both are serious pieces of bird feeding kit! Very substantial & well made - & therefore a fair weight, so you need a sturdy branch from which to hang them.The product descriptions are accurate, but the one key thing that should be mentioned is that the manufacturer advises that the feeder is sited with 18" clearance all round - this is to prevent Mr Squirrel from short circuiting the feeder mechanism by leaning across from a nearby vantage point!The feeder is easy to fill & comes with comprehensive instructions for dismantling to allow cleaning.The enclosed leaflet also has a series of FAQs including one which points out that the feeder is not raccoon-proof & that if you have a problem with bears, you should take the feeder in at night! - well the manufacturer is based in Canada, so I guess that's all relevant over there! But here in Blighty it's just the squirrels we have to keep one step ahead of & I think this feeder should fulfill that role.I'll update this review again once I have had the opportunity to observe it in action.10 February update - not as much activity on this feeder as the classic, but that's probably because it contains mostly peanuts. It has been visited by coal tits & blue tits, although no G S Woodpecker as yet.24 February update - no takers for the whole peanuts, so today I took a hammer to them & broke them into smaller pieces. I mixed with some suet pellets & sunflower hearts & hey presto! The combination attracted various species straight away. Upgraded to 5* & this illustrates how important it is to feed the right food for the species you have.

For several years we’ve put up with a family of marauding squirrels without being able to deter them but now we have found a solution!!This is a great product, well thought out, solidly constructed and it really works. It seems expensive but is worth every penny.It took about 24 hours for the birds to get used to it and has now been in use for three weeks. During this time the squirrels have tried to get the nuts but failed on every occasion. As other reviewers have reported, it’s hilarious to watch them try, so it’s five stars for the product and five stars for the entertainment value.

Works perfectly, it was put to the test within minutes of set up. Peanuts last much longer now, so worth the money for this feeder that does exactly what it says it can do!

Je recherchais une mangeoire empêchant les perruches et pigeons de venir s'y nourrir et j'ai trouvé les produits Squirrel Buster après quelques recherches !Cette mangeoire anti écureuil dispose d'un ressort réglable permettant de "sélectionner" a quels oiseaux on veut donner à manger.Grâce à ce système j'ai pu régler la tension du ressort de sorte à ce que quand une perruche tente de s'y poser, son poids entraîne la baisse de toute la partie mobile de la mangeoire et ferme de ce fait les zones d'accès à la nourriture. C'est vraiment bien pensé et terriblement efficace !Pour affiner le réglage du ressort j'ai volontairement ajouter un gros écrou autour de la tige de suspension (environ 40/50g).La mangeoire dispose d'un volume largement suffisant pour tenir l'hiver complet, les cacahuètes étant grinotées lentement chez moi. Les oiseaux y accèdent à 360 degré.J'utilise donc des cacahuètes spéciales oiseaux mais on peut aussi mettre d'autres aliments solides type granulés, le tout étant derrière une grille obligeant les oiseaux à picorer plutôt qu'à prendre des gros morceaux.ATTENTION : Il ne faut pas réutiliser des cacahuètes de l'année précédente car au fil du temps se développe une toxine mortelle pour les oiseaux (Aflatoxine). Idem si des cacahuètes semblent moisies dans un paquet mieux vaut le jeter.Le démontage est extrêmement simple.Au final cette mangeoire rempli parfaitement son rôle et m'apporte satisfaction, je peux donc nourrir seulement les oiseaux en difficulté et non les espèces qui prolifèrent au dépend des autres.Je mets une étoile de moins pour le fait d'avoir eu a utiliser un écrou perso pour un réglage plus fin afin notamment d'empêcher les perruches plus jeunes et donc plus légères de s'y poser.Je trouve aussi ce modèle un peu cher mais bon les autres alternatives n'étaient pas aussi simple d'utilisation et esthétiques.Il existe dans la gamme d'autres mangeoires de différentes capacitées adaptées aux graines et mélanges divers.

This company makes fantastic feeders very pleased with all of them. I have three different ones.

Good for Northern Flicker,Downy Woodpecker, Red breasted Nuthatch, Chickadees, House finches but because mine hangs close to deck railing the squirrels can get nuts! However their acrobatics are fun to see.
