If you think this is a magnetic device. It’s not their plastic. They’re mounts for something else that didn’t even show up when I bought this.

As we switched to a new (to us) car, we needed to move my favorite cell phone mount (it fits my phone perfectly), but didn't have a ball mount that worked well with the new dash layout. Found these, and they worked well. Be sure to measure the ball of your existing mount as there seem to be a few "standard" ball mount sizes that are all seemingly pretty similar, but different enough to matter.The one issue we've had is that on the very hot days (100+) with the black dash, these can lose their adhesion, even when the surface was prepared correctly.

I have an older vehicle, which could have been at the heart of my issue. It did have to be place in my console in order to be used.This product was a perfect fit. I just had to be sure to clean the area thoroughly and follow that with an alcohol swap to make sure there was no residue. I can now have it just where I need it to see the screen clearly, whether to check time or follow turn by turn map instructions. This was a very affordable and satisfactory fix.
