The Diary of a Secret Tory MP

Funny but overtaken by funnier real events
This is a very amusing diary written by a (hopefully) fictional MP. There's a kind of overarching story but it's very much a series of parody articles strung together. If you like things like Dear Bill in Private Eye, you'll like this. While the book is funny it's been overtaken by reality as one of the prime characters, Lee Anderson MP, was made Tory deputy Chair after publication and then told to stop talking due to the embarrassment factor - something even more ridiculous than any work of fiction, parody or otherwise could come up with.

This is one of the funniest books I’ve ever read!
There are some scenes that I’ll never forget. Hilarious.

Very funny book - provided you are not a Tory!

Fairly humorous take
Not to be fooled that this is the workings of an actual Tory MP, but a fictional secret Tory. The events described clearly poke fun at a section of the government that are obsessed and entwined in right wing endeavours, including Brexit, cultural wars and the vilification of asylum seekers, not to mention allegations of corruption and general disdain for those whom they apparently serve…Although at times humorous I found this title to be tedious and repetitive in parts, with an almost sudden and blunt ending, although this may be due to the chaos of the government of the day that currently still ensues. Looking forward to the sequel that will hopefully depict the end of Tory rule in Britain.

Depressingly Close to Reality
An amusing satirical view of life and times as a Tory MP. Unfortunately, it seems very close to the reality and illustrates all too clearly the distance between the current government and those they represent - all too often badly.

Utterly brilliant
If you are deluded enough to still vote Conservative at the next General Election then this is not the book for you. This book takes you on a comical trip through last years sheep dip of embarrassment displayed in full glory to the UK and world by the Tory party through the imaginary wicked eyes of a 'secret MP' who strives to make those sitting in Parliament look humane after all. With funny nods to events that made my toes curl or blood boil when they actually happened and the creative thinking that might (?) have led to (Sir) Gavin Williamson getting a knighthood are gems in this funny read.

Will become the first satirical historical
I brought this haven been an early adopter to the twitter account. It doesn't disappoint the horrible fact is that it reflects the times we live in. Public service has become self serviceBack handed dealing is now done out front with lights onCharacters that should be beyond parody are MP's in the new forestThe PM lies as easily as they breatheWritten with enough seriousness to know the author is angry, but with the comedic value to entertain ans sadden at the same time

Brilliant and hilarious
Scarily realistic, hilarious and sharp. This is just the book I needed and could be the account of any one of the current cabinet of chancer Tory MPs. I couldn’t put this down, it will be on the gift list for my whole family this Christmas. Whoever this author is, bring us more! Looking forward to the next volume.
