Incredible Quality
Incredible Quality!I don’t even have a screen to project on yet and the resolution is fantastic, the lumens are superior to most projectors which permits me to use it with the lights on.The speaker is also really good. The Android TV that comes with it makes it so easy to use.

Nice projector. But does have limitations.
What I liked:With some programing and media the picture quality, brightness, and contrast are nice. Though I wouldn't say that the 4K content it displays is on a par with the 4K content displayed by non projector 4K televisions. On some of those sets the picture quality is liquid. On this BenQ not so much.I liked the easy setup. Compared to the projector it replaced, an ancient Sanyo 1080P, it's lighter and simpler to mount on the ceiling. I did have to get rid of the mount I used on the Sanyo as it was not compatible with the BenQ. But I replaced it with a mount I purchased on Amazon for under $40 dollars. What i didn't like:Fan noise. Compared to the behemoth of a Sanyo projector that I finally removed (btw that thing was hanging there since 2005 with several bulb changes in between) this thing sounds like my electric toothbrush. It's noticeable. By contrast the Sanyo was whisper quiet. During silent passages I now look up and stare at the projector and wait for sound to increase in the programming. The Android Dongle:Lets face it. Most of us are hanging this thing in a dedicated media room or living room. Everything that works off some type of network connection in our setup is connected via ethernet cable. I know that some of us don't have that luxury. But would it have killed them to throw in a lousy ethernet jack. I don't use wifi for media. Which is what the Dongle is. I use an AppleTV 4K and have it fed by network cable. The Dongle is useless and it was a pain in the rear at startup because the projector would always default to it. I disabled it.Things I'm looking forward to?Trying out the 3D. Never had a set with 3D.More 4K content. Watched a Marvel movie on the Disney channel and the quality of the picture was almost on a par with those liquidy sets I mentioned.FYI: I still use a Harmony remote through out our home. It integrated perfectly with the projectors remote.

Fairly easy to set up. Using Firestick 4Kstreamer
Great bright picture with some room light seeping in. Has decent sound although put on Denon sound bar. The projector does throw a lot of heat. Fan is not noisy at all. Setting up alignment is a little fussy but no issues once you get that right. I am not a fan of Android (down 1 star) although I did install it to avoid error messages. I plugged a 4K Firestick in and it was simple to hook wireless sound bar in. I did get the gray high contrast screen which was a good combo if the room is not blacked out. I'm very satisfied with the picture but will upgrade to Atmos sound.

Poor quality so frustrating
I've had this for about 6 months now and its been nothing but trouble. First we had a bad android TV stick which benq replaced after an annoying ticketing process. I had to ship mine back then once they received it, they sent a new one. Took like 2 weeks. Now the android TV stick is not working AGAIN only about 4 weeks later. Lastly, since about 2 weeks after installing it, the HDMI inputs aren't properly communicating that its a 4k projector. So my Xbox and any other video source will not output 4k. Closest I get is manually setting the HDMI output settings to like 2k. SO FRUSTRATING. So now what. Unmount it? Box it up? Send it back? Such a PIA.

Outstanding Picture
The picture and WiFI AI is amazing. The only small con is occasionally you can hear the hardrive working.

Super crisp and simple to use with a few quirks
The projector is really great. The color and image quality along with its brightness are top notch. I wouldn’t recommend using it for sound, but I think few would anyways. Mine does have a bit of an image glitch that pops up randomly for just a few frames. Can’t seem to figure out what’s causing it, looks like an old time film strip glitch. Regardless of that I still think it is a good value. Hope it lasts me a few years.

Great picture quality for the money, awful "smart" functions
The good: LOVE the brightness of it. It's incredible for the price. Picture quality is equally great for the price point ($1200-1300 on sale). The bad: ARC and the "built-in" android dongle (to be clear, it's not truly built in- its a dongle that has to be installed behind the faceplate/cover) are AWFUL. I tried setting this up with multiple soundbars and came across the same issue consistently. Namely, the soundbar/dongle even when viewing other sources (I.e., an Xbox plugged into the soundbar HDMI in, then soundbar HDMI out going to the projector) would send the "TV Input" command to the soundbar. The soundbar would then change to "TV" (aka, ARC, though on some models it's an optical input), which would break the HDMI handshake for the original source device. This happened regardless of whether the source was the built in TV dongle, a device plugged into the soundbar, didn't matter. I even went so far as to disable ARC and CEC on the projector, and solely use sources plugged into the soundbar. This STILL didn't fix it, and I had to remove the android TV dongle from inside the projector entirely. Without the dongle installed, there's no more of these issues. But considering this is advertised as a smart projector with that capability, YMMV if it works for your set up or not.
