Gaiam Print Yoga Mat

I think the product is well-described. However, I probably should have gotten a different mat because i was hoping for a slightly thicker surface... also, the smell does take a while to fade away (the first few days are the worst, but it's been a few weeks and I can still smell it when I am lying on the mat). The design is pretty, and you won't regret buying your own mat! A good product for a beginner, but you may want an upgrade after a while.*** update *** the smell has pretty much faded away completely after 5 months! Not bad. I improved the review from 3 stars to 4 stars.

Not being a yoga type myself I can only rate this by the smile on my mothers face when given as a present, she was very happy and claimed she would be the envy of her yoga group.Compared to her old mat this one seemed better quality and initial worries about it being to thin have since proved foundless, apparently some members of her group use 2 mats for extra thickness/comfort somthing she considered but decided not to do as the new mat was fine on its own.

This mat is quite normal, I would not say that there is anything special about it and I am not sure it is worth £18 but on the other hand I did not own any mat beforehand to have anything to compare it to. The length is good, but to me it is slightly too thin. For those of you who can't stand the PVC smell of new rubber products, this will be a good choice as it pretty much does not smell at all.

I bought this mat after having one that was way too thick and this is perfect! I do practise on a carpet though so it might be a bit too thin for a hardwood floor. Other than that, it grips very well (had no problems with any poses) and I've not noticed any sign of wear on it.Only slight negative is having to air it out for 2-3 days as it does stink a lot and your whole house will too (unless you can put it outside).

This is a very pretty mat with a lovely design, however it is not fit for purpose as a yoga mat. Trying downward dog on this mat and you are more likely to look like dog squashed on mat! Very slippy when holding poses and the mat also does not stay engaged with the floor in the studio. It rumples up so all in all not very safe at all. While it does take time for some mats to get worn in, this for me was not useable. An accident waiting to happen. This would be alright as a general purpose exercise mat. Such a shame as it looks so lovely. I wouldn't recommend it.

Does what it says. Looks pretty. Good grip. Sweating on any yoga mat means you'll slide a bit (until you get strong enough to hold yourself there).

This is a lovely looking mat but upon first use I found that my hands began to slide. I showered off the mat and allowed to dry and it's now fine. It is very expensive for what it is but I liked the design so I was wiling to pay.
