This tape will be fine to measure girth provided you only need to measure up to 2.2m but you would need to check that the weight conversions are appropriate for your cattle. There is a ring at each end and it is possible to thread one ring through the other if you want to draw the tape through. The weight of the rings might also be useful to manage the tape whilst getting it in place. In case the tape is flipped over, it would have been useful to have the measurements printed on both sides, perhaps with one starting at the other end, which they are not. I would also have preferred the measurement starting from where the ring was attached to the tape rather than 4 cm in at the red arrow as this one does. I would also include common UK cattle varieties, preferably beef breeds, where weight is perhaps more important. This tape includes measurements for the very differently shaped Zebu, which is not a type of cattle I have ever seen in the UK. It also has ‘European milking breeds’ and ‘crossbreeds’ (milk and beef??). The tape itself seems pretty robust and the end rings are good quality and firmly attached.
