...so take this from someone who has NO experience. If you have ever wanted to do some scratchy, prison-worthy tattoos, this machine is not for you, as it really seems to be of excellent quality. The motor is quiet and smooth, and the vibration is extremely low... don't get me wrong, you can still make some horrible tattoos with this thing, as it is not a magic wand, but it will set you up to do good work if you practice. The kit comes with everything a beginner would need to get started, other than talent. I have watched tattoo shows on television, and this gun is not like the ones they use... there are no rubber bands holding on to the shaft or anything... the unit is self contained. I don't know if this is a good or bad point, but I figured it was worth mentioning that this is not like ones I have seen on television. Our daughter is an artist, so we are going to let her do whatever she does on unsuspecting victims until she gets good at it, then she can move up to an expensive, more professional unit.

If you are a beginner, then this is the perfect set for you, it has everything you need to start practicing in one nice kit. Most professionals would want a better set of ink, but these included to great on the practice skin. The pen is not heavy and it barely vibrates, it's quiet, easy to use and change out the needles. Very good option at a decent price.
