Got this for a tree-climbing project. I tried it out from a branch close to the ground./ Woked as intended. Smooth operation and very sturdy; did not slip. Not a pro climber, but looks like it will last a while.

Works great

A well built nicely finished piece of kit for recreational rock climbing or anywhere climbing a rope is involved. The main body looks nicely anodized whereas the cam is an unfinished stainless steel alloy.The teeth of the cam are aggressive for a secure hold but doesn't damage the rope. Tested on an 11 mm climbing rope it ran smoothly and trouble free. With large openings top and bottom there's enough room for slings or carabiners to be attached. By itself it'll make a good self belay or safety device. It will need to paired with another ascender if you want to use it for that purpose though.For chest ascenders, my preference is the hand held ones like the jumar style. These are smaller and more compact so there's a trade off.The above should not be taken as any kind of safety or use instruction. Always learn to use your equipment in a proper and a safe manner.

Got this chest ascender for my kit when hiking in the woods or working up a tree. Never know when you might need to get down a steep or vertical bank. The product is finished very nicely and has very smooth edges. The teeth are quite aggressive and gripped a 10mm rope very well. Its rated up to 100kg and will handle rope between 8 and 13 mm. I am no climber but this piece of kit will come in real handy when out in the woods in need of a way to get down an obstacle.
