HiByR5 Gen 2 Digital Audio Player mp3 mp4 Player with Bluetooth and WiFi Android DAP with Large Capacity Battery and Fast Charging

I bought this exclusively to run Media Monkey and sync with my PC MM library. It does this seamlessly so far. I really can't think of anything negative to say about it!

Slower processor and older android version meant a little glitchy with apps…however plays great and settled down after a day or two.Apple classical not supported currently on android 8 which this runs, so keep that in mind.Battery lasts most of the day in class a mode.The internal dac is slightly behind the one in my zen dac, however this can be plugged into it to continue using that dac at home when required…the sound of the r5 is plenty incredible on its own and more than suitable on the move.I’ve purchased it to accompany me on a long long flight, with the class a turned off i think it will last the 21hrs i will need it to using the 4.4 balanced input for my moondrop variations.All together incredibly happy with the purchase and will upgrade in the future to whichever model hiby is in at that time.Build quality, sound and features out weight the smaller slower screen and slightly annoying button placement for me.

I could not get it to sync with my computer ,so I could not put my music ,my cd,s from I Tunes on it

First of all the sound quality is great (when used with decent headphones or earbuds). I have only tried the regular 3.5mm prior output, along with Bluetooth. Personally I couldn't hear any difference when using the 'Class A' circuit, and for what you lose in battery life you might not need to bother with that.Build quality is excellent, and it feels like a £450 player, the only problem I faced was with the Hiby app that comes as standard. I have a 512GB card that contains over 55,000 tracks, and the app would scan the first 732 tracks and then crash every single time. In the end I installed the (free) Musicolet app which works perfectly and scanned the card fairly quickly.I don't use streaming services on my MP3 players, so can't comment on those.Is this better than using your phone? If you have a small music library or if you stream, I'd suggest that the convenience of carrying one machine about outweighs any other considerations. If you're like me and you have a large collection of files, then having a separate player is worth considering.

Whilst this product has a great sound when played using a Bluetooth speaker, if wired headphones are connected the volume control gets disabled. I took this up with HiBy customer service and this was their response: "The HiBy R5 Gen 2 does not support inline remote control. Wish you a pleasant day!" I've returned the product now, as I don't find much use for an Mp3 Player that doesn't work properly with headphones.

Android is as terrible as I remember it from years ago, random app crashes etc. But as long as you leave the player powered on, it's fairly stable. Sound quality is excellent, particularly the Class A amplifier. Loads of power from the 4.4mm balanced output, no issues driving my 250ohm studio set, or any of my less power hungry headphones and IEM's. The case looks great, but you can't identify the buttons without looking, so I modified it with an exacto knife to expose them. Hopefully there'll be aftermarket cases soon. Overall I love this thing, when I wear it out I'll buy another from hiby.

The number of problems I have had with this item are as follows;Screen locks and unable to power off or reset, so need to leave for over a day to exhaust the battery to attempt to reboot.Fails to boot with errors with very little info on how to resolveUpdated firmware on 16/03/23 and now the thing will not even power on. Avoid at all cost.

Does not play MQA through tidal app, lots of clicks and sounds like static or a loose connection, I contacted HIBY about a year ago to complain and was told there would be an update to fix problem, no update , was told to play TIDAL through HIBY MUSIC APP, It plays MQA ok but after a while it plays random tracks and not the ones selected. Being able to play a chosen track is a basic function especially for a £400 player. Also I see they are releasing new players (R8-R4) they quote as being MQA compatible, I wonder if they can play MQA through TIDAL or do you have to use HIBY MUSIC PLAYER.

The Hiby R5 gen 2 is my first experience with a high resolution music player. I found it to be better built and of higher quality than I expected, being that I had not heard of the Hiby brand before. The player is very solidly constructed and seems like it will be very durable. It has an Android based operating system, which I am familiar with because of my cell phone, but I don't use my phone to play music, and the R5's music interface is based on Android, so it took me personally, some time to get used to, but others might find it easy to use. The touch screen is a bit slow to respond at times, but I bought this solely to play music on, so it's not an issue for me. I found it very easy to put music into the player via a USB cable connected to a computer, but have not tried adding music over wi-fi yet. It is much simpler to add and remove music to this player versus doing the same with an ipod. I feel the quality and depth of the sound that the R5 can produce is outstanding! I listen to mine in the class A amplifier setting exclusively, and find that the sound is pretty amazing. I admit though, that a good pair of Headphones or IEMs makes more of a difference in the overall sound quality, then the player does itself, so sound quality is subjective. I listen to my R5 through a pair of Moondrop Blessing 2 IEMs, and find the sound to be like having a high quality hi-fi system in my ears. Overall, I love this player! It was well worth the cost for me because the quality of the sound versus an ipod makes me want to listen to my old music again!

Zusammen mit dem Soundcore Q35 eine Ohrenweide. Ich bin schockverliebt.Akku hält eine gefühlte Ewigkeit und immer wieder mal Systemupdates. Top.

No pude instalar Apple Music por q dice que está rooteado el aparato, el reproductor cuenta con bluetooth y NO FUNCIONA BIEN se corta la música constantemente y use unos EarPods MAX que son impecables con otros aparatos como tv, Steam deck, nintendo switch y teléfonos andorid por lo cual es un hecho que HIBY no lo hizo bien, está super bien construido y cableado funciona para la música pero es un dolor de cabeza la interfaz es lenta, no reconoce las canciones nuevas si cambias de SD te marca que las canciones no existe, es super Lento al momento de cargar la tarjeta SD de 1 tb, parece ser demasiado almacenamiento para este reproductor y HIBY anuncia que soporta un terabyte y le puse una SD DE LAS NUEVAS que recomendaba Amazon, si quieres escuchar mÚsica y navegar se traba Y SE OYEN CORTES DURANTE LA REPRODUCCIÓN DE LA MÚSICA y no es compatible con algunas apps que específicamente yo requiero. NO LO RECOMIENDO LO MEJOR SERIA GASTAR UN POCO MAS POR ALGO MEJOR a reserva que el HIBY r6 también sea un fiasco TAMBIEN
