The media could not be loaded.  If you're looking for a very traditional rattle where a single solitary shake produces a nice burst of noise, keep on looking, this is not the rattle you're looking for. This rattle BARELY qualifies as a rattle due to whatever it is they used inside and the thickness of the silicone encasing it not letting the sound come through. By no means is there a "crisp rattling sound" being produced, if anything it sounds like a few grains of sand shifting inside a sealed container stuffed with cotton balls. You can hear a slight rustling when you shake it, but that's it.Compare that to the loud rat-a-tat-tat of a traditional baby rattle and you're going to be disappointed.To elicit any kind of sound, I'm having to shake that rattle far harder than your typical baby can. So unless they decide get all percussionist with it and bang it on the table, they're not going to be producing much sound with that thing.BUT, all hope is not lost for this thing as it is an AMAZING teether. This thing has bumps and ridges on the rattle portion, and then on the ring/handle portion there are four additional textures of bumps and lines, which will give any baby a number of different tactile sensations to choose from as they chomp down on the silicone. Six different textures combined with a bit of variation in the thickness of the silicone itself depending on where the baby bites down makes this one of the more versatile teethers we've encountered.AND there's a loop for a tether (it doesn't come with one) so you can safeguard against this thing getting tossed or dropped as babies are wont to do.***Overall Value***It's silicone so this thing will be resilient and last you until your baby outgrows it or you lose it, and for only $10 it's a good teether. But if you're looking for a rattle, this really isn't what you want.

Silicone teething toys are my favorite. Add in a baby rattle that can double as a teething toy? Perfection. I love that this is made of a nice durable silicone, I don't see any imperfections and it rattles beautifully. I love the classic look of this rattle and the way baby can hold this in various ways because of its shape. This would make a sweet gift for a baby shower.

This is not so much a rattle as the title implies but more of a teether. It is made of silicone and is free of any of the nasty stuff like BPA, phthalates, latex and lead. I am giving it as a gift in a baby basket and it will look adorable. For just under $10, it is a good deal. I'd order it again.

NIce little rattle with a soft handle. Great for teething. The rattle sound itself is not very loud so theres a plus. Other than that it is pretty standard.
