Peugeot - Elis Sense u'Select Electric Salt Mill - Adjustable Grinder - Battery Powered - Blue LED Light, Stainless Steel, 20 cm

Took ages to get the case open and add batteries. was about to give up and return the item then i managed to open it. now the salt needs refilling i have the same problem. not sure if this is typical or I have a faulty item.would have given it a higher score but cant use it now its run out of salt.Help !!

Obviously a dear product but you get what you pay for. Had an older model that fell out of the cupboard so many times that eventually the base broke. Yri d cheap versions and very dear hand traditional mills in stainless steel. Of all of them this is the best. Only slight problem experienced was corrosion of the battery terminals with a green vertigray. This inhibits the battery voltage and the motor can struggle. Overall would not be without one.

Both Mills are superb quality and are presented in a foam padded display box. Inserting the batteries is a bit fiddly and make sure you get the polarities facing in the right direction - it's easy to get them wrong (as I found out). The extra salt and pepper containers are a great addition and they make it easy to fill the mills. Older versions of these Peugeot Salt and Pepper Mills had narrower necks which made it difficult to fill without spilling pepper corns and salt all over the place. They are very touch sensitive so be careful when handling because you can set them off before getting to your plate. Overall they are superbly well engineered and look great.

In daily use my Elis has not missed a beat thus far and I found it invaluable when it came to incorporating freshly ground pepper with one hand while simultaneously stirring the dish with the other. Impossible with manual grinders, obviously. It will grind pepper corns from fine to coarse effortlessly though not to the fineness of powder. Its neat little black tray looks smart on the table and keeps bits of pepper from messing up surfaces.Trivia: weighty due to steel construction and the 5 AAA batteries needed for power. It comes with alkalines but I use rechargeables which seem to do the job perfectly adequately. The stainless steel body is easily wiped clean and still looks as good as new even after a year's use.I bought one a year ago and this is my second to give away as a gift to a friend who loved the one I had. Considering the cost of this item there is no greater recommendation I suppose.

Great product - i have bought it before but a packet of dead AAA batteries was not very professional.

Have had many pepper grinders over time, some manual & some electric (batteries), But this Peugeot pepper mill is the best I have ever seen or had, yes its a lot of money, But believe me when I say it, it is worth every penny, you won't regret it, Oh by the way, The matching salt mill is just as good, Enjoy

Very expensive for what they are but they grind beautifully. I was disappointed when they arrived that they were battery operated because I thought I'd ordered the mains/rechargeable version but that was my mistake. I spent too long looking at all the versions available and ended up buying the wrong ones! Really pleased with them but removed one star purely because of the price.

As I have struggled with arthritis in my hands and having read such positive reviews I decided to try this mill. It is very expensive and I did initially discount it as an option. However, whilst a bit fiddly to put together I am delighted. The mill is quite heavy and comes with its own tray.
