Wasn't disappointed. I will be buying more smartmax products for my grandsons

My kids absolutely love all the SmartMax kits we have, and each kit has its own functionality and fun! The build a car kit comes with several different 'how to' builds, and each piece is well made and magnetic so you know my kids have made all sorts of crazy builds. I love watching their creativity and knowing that they're learning and having fun at the same time!

My 14mo loves this set. The magnets are strong enough to keep things together easily. This is our 3rd set and they are all really durable

This is a really cute set to introduce magents safely for younger children. I am a little disappointed that the magentism is not very strong and also that some of the pieces don't attach together on all sides (this would be frustrating to a young child). This is very cute and also worked well with other Smart Max pieces.

This is a really cute puzzle idea for little kids, and it is a bit different than I was expecting. I thought both sides of the car were flat and magnetic, but actually only one side is and the other has an indent so shapes can be placed on it at at an angle. Because of this, I think the age range could have used some clarification.A 1.5 yr old kid would enjoy building the car, but they might need some help if they flip it over it over to the indented side as they probably wouldn't understand what the problem was. And they'd definitely struggle with the puzzles. I think a kid around 2.5 to 3 could handle the easy puzzles, and my 4.5 yr old enjoyed the harder puzzles. Mostly he just wanted to play with the parts though and build different car types.All of the pieces are large and well made, and would be safe for a baby to play with. It's packaged very nicely and would make a great gift.

My grandson definitely likes this set, and his slightly older sister does as well. He just turned two and primarily loves to pull things apart (and throw the pieces!). This product works well for that! Bright, colorful, durable pieces that fit well together. Plus, if your child/grandchild can follow the "instruction" cards, it doubles as a form of puzzle that helps them start down the path of following simple directions. I refer to this as a starter kit because the options are somewhat limited. Even so, that's perfect for a toddler who is ready to "graduate" from more basic toys.

Ordered this for my 2 year old grandson for Christmas, and it's fantastic. The little car has two sides, both are magnetic. One side is flat, flip it over and the other side has an inverted v in the middle. It comes with a fair few cards with pictures of ways to utilize the blocks. The cards are nice and large and laminated. One side of the card shows options for the flat side of the car, the other side of the cards show options for the indented side of the car. The blocks are all magnetic. I love that this doesn't have 500 pieces but there are at least 500 ways to play with it. I would say that the car wheels and car could be made with a little thicker plastic, the wheels look like they would pop off the 1st time the toddler puts his weight on it.

Really fun cute early magnetic play set for the youngest learners. This set has magnetic pieces that are easy for little ones to grasp and hold. They learn about magnetic forces while having fun and building their own unique designs. Great set and the whole line is fun to mix and match.
