We converted our Church office computer from a 2011 Windows I-3 machine to this Chromebox5. It was extremely easy to set up and integrated perfectly with our monitor, webcam and printers and has provided an economical solution to updating our office system. This system is very fast, efficient and safe and we are very Pleased with this choice.

Got this for my 85 year old dad who just lives on the internet. He has a larger monitor and separate keyboard and mouse from his PC. I was getting tired of constantly cleaning out viruses or reinstalling Windows from his constant virus and adware contamination. No matter what anti-virus software or user setting his PCs constantly were getting compromised. He didn't want a Chromebook, cause of the setup, but a Chromebox seemed like it'd be worth a try. Apple products seemed like overkill for his needs.6 months in and no problem with any malware or performance. We're all happy.

My personal PC is a non updated Windows 7 that I have had for over a decade and I will ride it into the ground. Unfortunately, I have been stuck with a Windows 10 PC for work that I absolutely hate. Takes forever to be usable after boot, wonky updates and just the overall unpleasantness of the W10 environment was driving me bonkers. I had thought about the Chrome Box as a solution for a while and the only regret I have is that I didn't get it sooner. It's ready to go instantly upon start up, handles multiple tabs and streaming with ease with no janky Windows nonsense. As an added bonus, it has a Linux interface that will allow you to install non native programs like Signal. Initially, I couldn't be more pleased.

Despite Asus advertising this Mini PC especially for his Wireless Charging feature... they also sell a version without, which is what most people will end up buying for 2 reasons:- Misleading pictures showing a mobile on top of the MiniPC- Slightly cheaper than the Wireless Charing modelOther than that. No brainer, best mini PC with Chrome OS, hands down. Perfect as HTPC. If you need to play games, look at the i5 and i7 versions.

Love Chromeboxes as I can pair with big monitor. Chrome and a few apps fo everything I need and is the best for surfing the net. Gave my old Asus Chromebox 3 to my mom when her old machine died and she loves it. This new model 5 is fantastic for me.

Asus chromebox 4 is a nice size, plenty of usb and hdmi ports. Once I started using the chromebox it shut down several times during usage. Had trouble getting it to come back on. Wasn't easy to add my brother wireless printer and bluetooth mouse. It seems that chromebook or box you can't use a external cd/dvd player. Not compatible. Chrome OS is nothing but internet usage. Not many apps that you can add. I returned the chromebox and went back to my 8 year old Lenovo desktop windows computer.

This review is specifically for the device I bought. Here is my item description. "ASUS Chromebox 5 with Intel® Core i5-1240P Processor, 8GB Memory" I have this paired with a Logitech wireless keyboard and plugged into my Sony TV through the HDMI, and could not be happier. The one minor adjustment I made was to dumb down the stock resolution of the device, a 30 second effort. This replaced a chrome stick that I had used previously. This is my second attempt with a Chromebox unit and now I am completely satisfied. I had a previous bad experience using another brand where the keyboard was not compatible with the device. I now thoroughly trust and recommend the ASUS Brand in particular.

I was busy with other projects when the ASUS Chromebox 5 arrived and so didn't connect it right away. When I first connected it, as usual for computers, it went into update mode and restart. That process seemed to go well until the computer froze. I couldn't get the mouse or keyboard to get the computer to respond. I pushed power button to hard stop the computer. I rebooted the computer and after a page or two, again it froze. I walked away muttering to myself that this never happened with the ASUS Chromebox 3 I've had for a few years. After focusing on other projects for a week or ten days, I came back to the ASUS Chromebox 5 and the same freezing happened. I then checked with Amazon and found I was two days past the return date. So, now I have what we used to call a brick for a door stop. I'm so disappointed, but to some extent, I should have booted up the computer when I first received it. Live and learn (and don't forget that it was an ASUS computer that will make me very hesitant to buy another ASUS computer).

My wife and I are so glad we threw out her Windows PC and bought this ChromeBox, which is much faster and easier to use. It boots up in seconds instead of minutes. The graphical interface is much more intuitive. We love our ASUS ChromeBox.

The Asus Chromebox 5 is ideal for a personal computer, with no hassles over security, malware etc. Don't overstress it, browsing, films, YouTube etc it's great and stress free.

This is the 2nd Chromebox from Asus that I have bought, to replace the first Celeron version Chromebox. This is a a i3 10th gen processor, so is a big jump in performance. I will definitely recommend this who is looking to upgrade his chrome device.

Great for digital signage. Fast. Does the job. No complaints. Perfect for mounting behind TVs.
