Does as intended. Very very very specific tool though. If your working on a truck that old, especially in the rust belt. It might be better just to replace the whole line with some after market tubing. The quick disconnects that this opens were so seized by rust, I torn the line trying to get it off. Check the fittings for corrosion first. If they look fine, this should work perfectly!

I have used all kinds of removal tools on Ford quick connects ... plastic with an angled handle, round plastic ones without a handle and the metal scissor kind. This tool is by far the best to use on problem connections. It is precisely made and it has a rubber band that holds it closed as you wrestle with stuck fuel filters. Try squirting the connection alternating between carburetor cleaner and penetrating oil and working the connection by pushing and pulling gently. Stubborn connections have the internal O ring stuck to the filter tube which is not touched by the disconnect tool. Your objective is to unstick the O ring. Jamming the disconnect tool in and pulling hard on the line can damage the connector. Use this tool and be patient and the connection will eventually release like magjic. If you can't get it in a 20 minutes I would squirt it with carb cleaner and let it soak for a few hour or overnight.

Tools like this keep me buying tools and trying to do things myself. It brings me pleasure when the right tool makes the job at hand trivial. This is one of those. It's not much and maybe when I think about it, it might be a bit expensive, but my time is worth a lot to me and it's non-refundable!This thing just slid into the fitting and--poof--the line was separated from filter. The other end gave me trouble but it wasn't the tool, it was the tool trying to use the tool. There was a chunk of dried mud on the fitting. Once I got the flashlight and looked, I stopped filling out the amazon return form, scraped off the mud, blew out the rest of the debris and--you guessed it, poof--the other end came off.

Worked great! Had my fuel filter off in no time at all!

Just what I needed to change the fuel filter lines off on my 2004 F-250 Super Duty V10. This worked on the outflow line on the fuel filter, the in line just needed the blue tabs pressed in to release the fuel line. Be sure to release fuel pressure first before removing old fuel filter (I just let my truck sit over night cause I'm lazy) lol

Got the job done but was hard to use though. Had a hard time. Getting a good trip on it and sliding in into the fuel filter to remove from line. Could have been this is my first time changing a fuel filter in a Ford with this type of connection. And the filter was original as well so that could have played part. All in all it got the job done and the price was right.

I ended up not needing this product as I used another tool to get the fuel filter off. However, I gave this to a friend and they were very pleased with the ease of the tool. A one-time buy made of solid material.
