Not What Expected
The size dimensions are not as advertised, I specifically was worried it would not fit on my hutch but it did to my surprise. It is advertised as 17.79"D x 8.7"W x 7.56"H but from my pictures you can see that it is around 13"D x 6"W x 7.56"H. This is a pretty large size discrepancy but it worked out ok for me. I really wanted to like this toaster for the money but it is just ok. It has started to toast unevenly but I really enjoy the long slots for tuscan pane and sourdough breads. Also the crumb tray is in the back which is not easily accessible and sometimes the bread flings into the air, one time a piece even fell on the ground. Even though it looks really nice I probably would not recommend it.

Disappointing performance
I chose this toaster because I toast long slices of sourdough and Italian bread, I didn't want to spend too much, and the reviews were excellent. I have an old, traditional Krups toaster that still works well for traditional loaf bread, not long slices. No matter where I moved the bread, or how I set it, this toaster has a space in the middle with no heating elements so it will not toast uniformly. I returned the Whall long slot toaster. My wife thought it looked fine, but is cheaply made. It cost $40 with the Amazon coupon, but it's not worth it. My search continues for a better quality toaster that does its job.

Exterior Gets Hot
I wanted a wide slot toaster to accept artisan bread slices. This one does.It does not thoroughly toast both sides at the same rate. The inside toasts a bit lighter than the outside facing sides of the bread but it is acceptable so far. Will require more testing. There is a warning that the outside metal surfaces get hot and they do get quite hot so I advise caution.

Best Toast Ever!
I've been suffering through the last two toasters that looked nice but produced unevenly browned toast. We like sourdough bread so need the longer slots so choices are limited. After searching and searching and reading tons of reviews that all mention "uneven" toasting, I decided to try this Whall Long Slice Toaster and am so glad I did! It produces the tastiest, most evenly browned toast I think I've ever made at home. Its very easy to use; comes with a simple, easy to read instruction pamphlet that explains how to get the the best results from the toaster. The controls are simple, strategically placed and very easy to see! Cleaning tray pops out easily and toast pops up a bit beyond the top of the toaster so you don't have to dig down into the slot to retrieve the slices. It is large and boxy looking but I think it looks attractive next to and coordinates with my large, countertop microwave. Only downside is that the exterior gets hot when in use, unlike my old toasters. But, not having young children at home, I can live with that.

Inside Elements won't work
The media could not be loaded. I really wanted to like this toaster. It has 2 long slats perfect for sourdough bread. It has the option for toasting the one side of bagels. HOWEVER, I must have got a lemon! No matter what I try, the inside elements never turn on - only the outside elements work. So if I want toasted bread on both side, I have to take it out and turn it around and toast it twice. Very disappointing. I have looked for Youtube videos and product info about how to correct this but could not find anything. If the manufacturer sees this and can give me feedback how to correct it . . . I would be happy!??

Works as intended
Don't like that the toast literally pops out of the toaster when done.

$60 for burnt toast…or $60 for partially burnt toast
I spent over a month researching toasters. I’ve come to the conclusion it was a complete waste of time. They are all over priced and don’t work as they say they will. I tried setting 4, first picture. My husband likes it a little darker. So I tried setting 5…second picture. As you can see it does not ‘toast’ evenly but does a great job of almostBurning the toast. The toast in the second photo was also so hard it crumbled when he bit into it. The toaster was so hot to the touch and stayed hot for quite a while. So in summary I spent $60. for an appliance that I put on the shelf in our basement and ordered the one I had before the Hommater 2 Slot for $28.99. Lesson learned.
