Camp Chef 20IN Lumberjack Skillet

The pan had rust spots on it when I opened it and the coating was scratched. I am supposed to cook for 60 people tomorrow and now will have to triple the cooking time because I can't use this...

I have both, the 16" and 20" Lumberjack Skillits, they are fantastic if you like to cook outdoors over a campfire, they are big, heavy and perfect for cooking for a large group or for just a few, I clean up with just hot water (no soap) and scrapping out the left overs, dry on fire and oil with cooking oil and they are ready for next meal. The 16" will hold 4 doz. Scrambled eggs and 2 lbs. Sausage, 20" you can go up to 8 doz eggs with sauage, just to give an idea how big they are. Made right with the bale and long handle makes them easy to pick up. If you are looking for camp skillits these are great, big enough you do not slop out food while cooking. I use the 16" more than the 20" but both are worth the money. They are heavy steel and should last a lifetime if taken care of.

Bought this to feed the scout troop. Followed the directions to season it - everything stuck the first time we used it. Cleaned it all up and seasoned it twice this time. Same thing happened again. Rusted very quickly, within a few days before we were able to get it home and re-season. We have not used it since. Too much hassle.

Used on my last camping trip. Well made. Cleaned easily using wet paper towel while pan was hot. This steam cleans pan without rusting or compromising the pans seasoning. Use tongs to not burn yourself. The 20 inch is truly huge. I'm sure the 18" would have been fine. Used pan atop a campfire grate above flames.

You should pull out a tape measure before you buy this, it is HUGE! Don't get me wrong this isa very sturdy, and quality piece of cookware but you better be cooking on a very large grate overan open fire. I have gotten used to it now and can cook several different foods at the same timein zones because of the large size it actually saves time. If i had it to do over, i would get the 16"size. At the end of the day hats off to Camp Chef for a quality product.

This pan is undoubtedly my best camping investment! I get so many compliments over its size. Its deep too. I have cooked enough campfire chili in this pan to feed 10+ adults.My only complaint was the plastic lid handle is held on with a screw, the knob on the lid was threaded plastic. when it got hot the screw fell right out. I just swapped it out with a metal cabinet knob, problem solved.I gave 4 stars just because the knob on the lid was a bad design.. other than that its an amazing pan!*I edited my review since I realized I purchased the lid separately. The pan gets 5 stars, the lid gets 4.

Purchased for my boyfriend and he LOVES it! It will be great for his annual camping trips with the guys. It is super thick, heavy and everything you would expect! My only complaint....it arrived in a box that had the picture of it on the front. :( Totally ruined my Christmas gift to him as he was the one who got it from the UPS guy. Oh well, I scored big bonus points anyways.

I returned this due to the size. I miscalculated. This is very very good quality and arrived in perfect condition and better than average packaging. I have a what I thought was a 12" skillet with high sides and want one even larger. I never stopped to consider that 20" is as large a diameter as a bike tire. It was too large for my stove or cabinets. I know it's meant for camping but I figured I could use it indoors.If you can use a 20" skillet, you won't go wrong with this one.
