Photos make them seem like short shank almost semi circle hooks, but they aren't, they seem more like a medium length standard hook pattern.Sizes are ok, apart from their size 1/0 and 2/0, which seem small compared to a 1/0 o'shaughnessy and 1/0 black Aberdeen, but I think that's mainly down to a shorter shank, shorter barb and a thinner wire, because the bends are almost identical to an o'shaughnessyIn the photo the last 2 hooks are a 1/0 O'shaughnessy and a 1/0 black Aberdeen as a comparisonThe larger hooks are fine, but the smallest ones are more like a size 1 or 2, I'll probably use them for sabiki / feather rigsI don't think I'd pay full price for them £6 per 100 seems a bit much, but I got them on a warehouse deal, so I'm happy enough.

Both packs were to contain 50 pieces but only contained 48 in each

Hello Amazon customers,. I just received my order of these hooks. I got 50 hooks most are ok in appearance only time will tell if they are any good. I got 45 hooks which appear ok and usable but 5 which are not, so not bad.When you look closer at these hooks even more are defective. The barbs missing here and there, the chrome missing here and there. These are supposed to be the good ones. So I can only say quality control is not great but what do you expect for the price. These will be used on expendable sea rigs for over rocky grounds. If the land me a few fish then that's a bonus. I can't upload a photo my tablet says not enough memory, if I can I will edit this review after I go fishing tomorrow. Cheers Jb

There are several hang nails on the hook. The ones on the stem are not really necessary as they don't help to catch fish but cause lots of problems when you are dealing with the bait.

Great value for money, but alot of the hooks are far to small for sea fishing, more like carp hooks
