Harry Potter on Location (Standard Edition): including Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Paperback – 25 April 2017

I bought this book from the actual author who signed it on board the Jacobite travelling from Fort William to Malaig over the viaduct. I am astounded at the negative reviews. It is a fab book and have used it several times when visiting different parts of the country. Am planning a trip to Scotland and we are visiting the Glencoe locations whilst there. This book will be invaluable.

I ordered the Harry Potter on Location: An Unofficial Review and Guide to the Locations Used for the Entire Film Series and all the pictures were in black and white! I've seen other copies and all the pictures were in colour. I sent them an email to correct the problem and they sent me the same thing.

This is a very interesting book. Great for any Harry Potter fan. Although I've read only one chapter, it gave details of other movies on similar locations as well.I gave it 2 stars because the pages fall out when you turn them. This doesn't speak to the quality of the book's contents, only the quality of the physical book.

Sadly to many errors in the book.Poorly laid out.You can get better information off the internet.

Dieses Buch hat uns auf unserer England- und Schottlandreise wie ein Reiseführer begleitet. Zu jedem Drehort gibt es nicht nur Informationen zu den Harry Potter-Filmen, sondern auch andere Filme werden erwähnt, die den Standort als Drehort verwendet haben. Die Einleitung zu jedem Ort gibt einen genauen geschichtlichen Überblick und man bekommt so viele Informationen, dass man nicht nur die Szenen der Harry Potter-Filme im Kopf hat, sondern auch in die Geschichte des Landes und des Ortes eintaucht.Allerdings ist das Buch in sw gedruckt, d.h. auch die Fotos, und die Karten sind von Hand gezeichnet, was aber bei diesem Preis kein Problem ist. Überhaupt kann man für den Preis nichts besseres bekommen und ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass die viel teureren Bücher so viel mehr hergeben, vielleicht genauere Karten. Aber ohne eine genauen Straßenkarte mit kleinem Maßstab zusätzlich zum Navi kommt man nicht weit, wenn man auch nicht die Drehorte sucht. Man würde viel verpassen.Wenn man unterwegs ist und die Drehorte sucht, sollte man sich schon genau an die Wegbeschreibungen im Buch halten. Als wir zum Beispiel den Standort von Hagrids Hütte in Glencoe suchten, hielten wir uns nicht daran, den Pub zu suchen, sondern wanderten vom ersten Wanderparkplatz los und irrten länger durch den Wald (war aber auch schön) bis wir am kleinen See unterhalb herauskamen, wobei doch die kleine Straße vom Pub direkt daran vorbei führt. Dass man zum Standort der Hütte den steilen Buckel querfeldein schnaufen muss, hätte man noch deutlicher schreiben können, aber dann wäre das Buch sicher ein Drittel dicker geworden, um ja nichts zu vergessen.In London, Kings Cross, fanden wir mit dem Buch die Plattform 9 3/4 auch gleich auf den richtigen Bahngleisen 4 und 5 und wunderten uns, dass die Touristenmassen in der Vorhalle neben dem Shop lange Schlange standen, um ein Foto nur von einem Ersatzstandort zu machen.Besonders schön war das Glennfinnan-Viadukt und die Bahnstrecke an Loch Eilt entlang, wo viel gedreht wurde (die Zugfahrt ist aber sehr teuer. Wir fuhren mit dem Auto und konnten auch mal am Loch Eilt anhalten und uns umschauen, ob nicht Hagrid irgendwo im Wasser steht oder Dementoren herumfliegen ;-).Auf jeden Fall hat die Reise mit diesem Buch sehr viel Spaß gemacht und man liest ganz einfach gerne darin, auch wenn man nicht alle Drehorte besuchen kann. Das ist auf einer Reise ja sowieso nicht möglich.PS: Die Harry Potter Studios bei London, in deren Nachbarschaft auch gedreht wurde, lohnen sich, aber man muss schon einen ganzen Tag einplanen und im Internet buchen! Wir gingen von drei bis vier Stunden Besichtigung aus, am Ende waren es acht ohne Pause! Sehr freundliche Parkplatzeinweiser für unser Wohnwagengespann, großer, geräumiger Parkplatz, umzäunt.

Livre instructif pour les fan qui veulent partir sur les traces du sorcier Harry Potter.C'est très dommage qu'il ne soit pas fait aussi en français et que les photos dans le livre ne soient pas en couleurs.

ouvrage très bien documenté, permettant de retrouver les endroits clé des tournages de la saga HP.Très bien pour ceux qui le Royaume Uni et HP...de quoi pimenter ses vacances.
