Racing bikes- with an Aussie twist
We are living through a golden age of books about bicycles. Where once there was almost nothing in print about bicycles (as opposed to racing or leisure cycling), the shelves are now full of beautiful volumes. This is no exception- 100 years of racing bicycles, each photographed and described. The photographs are good rather than outstanding- excellent location shots rather than studio sets. The key interest here is the number of Australian bicycles, as the author hails from those parts, and his collection, like the others featured, leans heavily towards the home produced. So- fewer Colnagos, Pinarellosetc, some British, and many Australian bikes- mainly steel, but with one or two exceptions. Production quality of the book is excellent, and this should be in any collection of books on fine bicycles.

Brilliant book for us cycling nutters
100% superb. Loved it. Great writing, great photography - this book is everything that Made in England is not. Perhaps this publisher could teach Matthew Sowter (he of Made in England fame) how to craft a book.
