Easy to Assemble; a Great Ride makes the hills Disappear
We couldn't be more pleased with our Heybike Cityscape. It was bought for my wife who, at 82 years of age, had begun to struggle a bit pedaling up hills, even in low gear. The idea was that some pedal assistance might make it possible for her to continue to ride for some years to come. And, after just a short time of using the Cityscape, that hope seems to have been fulfilled in spades. Here's more information:1. Delivery and Assembly: The bike arrived within three days of ordering, and the FedEx driver was kind enough to deliver it right to our garage. The box was unscathed from the shipping activity, and we found the bike inside to be in perfect condition. (I noted the temporary spacer bolt on the front fork to prevent shipping damage of the fork -- what a great idea!) The bike comes with a short, illustrated assembly manual, and, following the simple, well-described steps, I was able to assemble the bike quickly and without any confusion. It was one of the easiest assembly operations I've encountered, thanks to Heybike's having already completed the more complicated tasks. It's basically: install the front wheel, affix the front fender and headlight, insert the handlebars, insert the seat, and screw in the pedals -- and you are ready to go (after inflating the deflated tires, of course.). I did put the battery on the charger but it was fully charged within a half-hour.2. Riding: At first we gave it a "no-assist" test ride (while the battery was on the charger). We found that we could adjust the seat and handlebars so they were a perfect "fit" for my 5'2" tall wife, and, with the very low step-over (one of the reasons we had selected the Cityscape), it was easy to mount and to get rolling. In "no-assist" mode, the bike rolls as easily as any non-electric bike. In fact, it coasted downhill at a faster clip than my own pedal-only bike; I had to pedal to keep up!. With the battery installed, we found we got exactly what we were wanting by pedaling in "no-assist" mode on gentle terrain (still getting some exercise), and then clicking to assist level #1 for the hills. The motor kicks in gently and, viola!, the hill "disappears"!. Clicking back to "0" at the top of the hill is also a smooth transition back to pedaling.3. Customer Support: Our first question was that the saddle bags that were a part of the order did not come with the bike. I asked customer support about that and was informed that they were shipped separately. Indeed, they arrived three days later. The second question was about reading the LCD screen that controls the functions of the motor and has the odometer, etc. on it. While it is quite readable in the garage, outside in the sun, the screen fades and becomes unreadable unless you shade the screen with your hand -- not advisable when riding, of course. I relayed this issue to Customer Support and they quickly responded with the suggestion that perhaps a different version of the screen would be better -- and they offered to send that as a replacement free of charge, along with installation instructions. (We only just had that conversation, and the new screen is on its way.) I find the Customer Support people, (Bella helped me) to be very responsive, interested in solving my issues, and generous in their solutions. It is a joy to find such helpful customer support people anywhere these days, and I give a shout out to Bella and the Heybike team!On a final note: My wife is able now to bike as if she were in her 20s, and I am having trouble keeping up with her, being the same age as she is. I may have to get myself a Heybike, just to keep up!

It's More Than a Reliable Street Bike!
I BOUGHT THIS BIKE back in November 2022 but wanted to put it through its paces before saying anything. Simply put: I love it. After 135 miles, it is still reliable, freeing, and a lot of fun to ride!ASSEMBLY: Out of the box, the back wheel (tire & rim) is attached to the frame and (in my case) needed no adjustments. The 7-speed Shimano gear shifter has been smooth and reliable. The handlebars “dangle” and need to be attached to the stem, but all of the cables and electricals are installed on the bars - again, they needed no adjustments and have worked flawlessly. You will need to install the front headlight, seat, the front wheel and the pedals onto the crank arms. I had no problems with the headlight, pedals or seat, except for getting the seatpost bolt tight enough. It's fine now, but I was surprised at how much torque I had to put on it to keep the seatpost from slipping down into the seat stem.Installing the front wheel was a little tricky. The brake disk which is attached to the front rim has to slide between the two brake shoes that are preadjusted and already installed on the front fork. It took a little effort but I finally got the wheel installed, aligned and tightened.CONTROLS are pre-installed on the handlebars and ready to use. They are positioned next to the grips and easy to reach. The display is easy to read.RIDE: Once the height and tilt of the handlebars and seat were adjusted, riding was smooth and comfortable. Switching from unassisted "regular" pedaling, to pedal assist to "cruise control" (throttle with no pedaling) is quick and simple. I usually set the gears to "7" (highest gear) and the motor speed to "1" and ride in pedal assist mode, pumping the pedals all the time and shifting gears as needed. But if I'm in a hurry, I'll crank the motor up to "3" and open the throttle all the way, cruisin' at over 19 mph.I've ridden mostly on flat, smooth roads and bike paths, but I have also taken it off-roading on logging roads, and really rough gravel, sand, dirt and mud about a dozen times. Now that's a hoot! And it performs like a champ.CHARGING THE BATTERY: Is straight-forward and relatively fast. The display tells you how much juice is left but I've never let it discharge completely so I really can't say how long a full charge would take. When it's down to one bar I just plug it in overnight it's ready to go the next morning. The USB port on the side of battery for charging phones, etc. is easy to access and does not require the battery to be pulled out.ACCESSORIES: I added the following to enhance my biking experience:1. Product Quality & Customer Service is the best
We purchased 2 of the Heybike Cityscapes, one in black and one in white for my husband and I. When my husband was assembling the bikes, he found that the front wheel screw was missing from one of the boxes. We contacted Heybike through Amazon and received an answer right away telling us that they would send a screw as well as 2 mirrors at no charge for our inconvenience. In the meantime, we were impatient and went to our local bikeshop and purchased the missing screw so we could take the bikes for a ride. Just after my husband finished assembling his bike, i accidentally knocked over his battery and broke the ignition in it. It was impossible to turn the key to unlock or turn the battery on. I went to Heybike's website and found a battery cover which includes the ignition. It was only available on the U.S website and I was unable to pick a Canadian shipping address after I went to purchase it. After panicking a little, I sent Heybike (through Amazon) another message asking where I could purchase this battery cover. They offered to send it to us at no charge with the screw and mirrors and I would only have to pay $20 shipping. It took about 8 days to receive the items, but we were completely impressed with the customer service we received at Heybike. We have only ridden the bikes twice and we absolutely love them. They are of excellent quality, look very attractive and ride well. We changed the pedal assist function to 0-9 options instead of the default 1-3 and this makes riding while using pedal assist much smoother. The bike is strong enough to carry my husband's weight as well as our little dog on the back. As far as bicycle seats go, the seat is comfortable and the brown colour on the seat and the handle grips make the bike look very stylish in both black and white. It is late in the season in Canada to do much more riding, but we are very excited to have an entire season next year with these bikes. We would absolutely recommend these bikes to anyone, especially anyone over 50 that needs that extra help to ride and prefers not to have to lean over to hold the handlebars. This was definitely a selling feature for us. It is definitely a cruising bike and not a mountain bike. Again, I cannot say enough about the customer service and the quality of the bikes.

Med. frame too tall for 5"7"
I've just received the bike this week and my son assembled it without much difficulty. The manual was missing key pieces of information and/or key pictures of what they were talking about. The bike is sturdy and I'm figuring it out pretty well. It is heavy but handles well.I bought the Medium frame which is advertised as fitting from 5'4'' to 6' something. I am 5"7".When I set the seat so the pedals give me the correct leg extension I cannot touch the ground. Coming to a stop and having to slide off the seat to set my feet on the ground can result in some wobbly, scary moments. If you are my height or less I suggest getting the smaller frame.

I'm generally pleased so far
The bike for the most part perfoms as it should. It's nice and zippy, and handles many of the hills near where I live adequately well. Some are simply too steep for the motor, but it's not the most expensive bike, so I'm fine with this. One issue I did note is that the seat would not stay in place, and kept dropping.I solved this with a piece of PVC pipe that I had lying around that was long enough to to hold the seat where I like it, and it's been working great, and doesn't interfere with battery removal. The only other issue, which is one I find to be pretty major, is the fact that one can't buy an extra charger in Canada [at this time]. I had planned on buying 2 more so I could leave them at my friends' places so I could charge whilst there, and not have range anxiety.Other than that, so far i've put ~130KM on it over 5 trips and it's been great.
