Why didn’t we get this sooner??
This makes trips with insulin SO easy. My son is in marching band and used this cooler on many occasions. I did a couple of tests first. Put the (frozen) ice container it comes with in the cooler with the little thermometer it comes with (SO handy!), sat it on a table outside in 105 degree heat for 8 hours. It wasn’t in direct sunlight - it was under a patio. But after 8 hours the ice pack wasn’t melting at all and the thermometer read 40 degrees - cold enough for unopened insulin pens. I know the thermometer wasn’t rigged, too, because the next day I put it inside the cooler without the ice pack and it read 80 degrees all day each time I opened it up. This thing makes taking insulin on the go a BREEZE!! Wish we had it a LONG time ago!

Met Expectations
I had read reviews of other products but this one, to me, had the fewest negative reviews or the negative reviews were due to the user not the product, so I decided to give it a try. Before my actual use I ran a test following the directions and carrying it around in a moderately warm car for a day. It stayed cold. In actual use, I chilled the container, which is not in the instructions, overnight, put in 4 insulin pens and a wegovy pen and put it in my carry on to Atlanta at 5:30 AM. In Atlanta it went into the trunk of a car, and rode around for a few hours. The air temperature was in the mid to high 70’s with a high cloud cover. When I finally got to the hotel at 8:30, the contents we still at 40 degrees. I put the container with the insulin pens and wegovy in the fridge the biogel in the freezer. Two days later, repeated the process going to Albuquerque.Still cold when I got there. As far as I am concerned, works as advertised.

Nice Product for Traveling
Purchased for vacation and storage of various diabetic supplies. Could fit 5 pens inside with the blue cooler pack and thermometer. Storing needles and lancets in the top of the cooler was handy. No issues with TSA checking the product, some airports opened and checked, others just scanned, and one swabbed for explosive materials. Very sturdy materials. I did find it did not stay cool for as long as it was projected to, but we had numerous delays getting from point A to B with a flight diversion and unexpected overnight stay in another state, but the meds were able to get into a hotel fridge for the night and then use the cold-water pack for the next flight. Stayed cold the entire time getting home.

Keeps cold for 24 hours!
I did a test of these where I used the blue biopack through a whole day to test how long and how cold it keeps the inside of the cannister. At the coldest, it stayed at around 35 degrees. It kept pretty steady around there to 40 degrees for the next 26 hours, ending at around 40 degrees when I checked it last. The biogel had thawed some but was still relatively frozen.Keep in mind however, that this was inside with average inside temperature of 75 degrees so actual travel time might have a shorter length. But for airplane and car travel, where the assumption is that the area where this will be kept is going to be air conditioned, this will work fine.

It works
It works for travel. The only thing is that it is heavy. With luggage fees, that is always something to consider.

Worked great!
Bought this for a driving trip that ended up being 10 hours. It kept my husband’s insulin cold and could have lasted much longer if needed as the temp wasn’t much higher then when we set off for our trip. I really like the fact the lid can hold pen tips and alcohol wipes.
