5000 Nights of Obsession: A Twisted Gatsby Story: 1 (Tales of Obsession)

It was amazing, I couldn't stop reading it!

As always didn’t know what to expect. But I’m so happy I did pick it for a read. I couldn’t put this down so read in a day. The style of writing was easy going, the story itself was IN-TENSE what the deuce! One plot I got it was obvious from the get go. But the others I didn’t see coming. Only 4* because it’s not something I would read again.

My first read from Drethi A. although there are some serious red flags here, it was so good!!There’s stalking, fame, flashbacks, a fiery FMC, an MMC who takes obsession to whole new level, families, secrets, desire and a cocktail of events. Axel Trimalchio is most definitely the villain of the piece. He desires Piya and nothing, not time, money or power will keep him from his reward.This was a good spin on a Gatsby retelling, with darker tones. Aside from a great plot, I loved the writing style and the details Drethi A throughout the book. So, please read sensibly and check triggers! And hopefully you’ll find this as intriguing and addictive as I did.

I have mixed feelings about this story. I enjoyed it overall, however, an epilogue to close Piya and Axel’s journey rather than an invitation to read the next book would have been preferable.I find it difficult to understand Axel’s behaviour. Especially the anger shown towards Piya following her return to Chicago. I appreciate he has a medical condition BUT his whole attitude controlling Piya was awful. A turn off actually! I do, however, understand why Piya made the decisions she made.An enjoyable read for those who like their men on the darker side of romance. This story held my attention throughout most of the narrative.3.5 stars.Book borrowed and read via my KU subscription.

I’ve been a fan of Drethi since her Quarantine series. 5000 nights was so different to anything else she has written and I have read but it didn’t disappoint. Axle was the perfect alpha, jealous and possessive. Piya surprised me and her strength was everything. Great read.

I've read a lot, and I mean, a lot of books each year, but this one is definitely in my top 10. Great plot, story, characters, ($mut - but not too much, but necessary). The writing was elegant and professional and just so entertaining. Hats off to this author. Great, Great work.

Mindblown. Só many twists and turns and the most epic story. I really loved this one. Honestly, many scenes were.... how do I say it?.... questionable? But I loved it and it all made sense in the end

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶.75Is Axel obsessed with Piya? I like to refer to it as scary unfiltered love. I loved every minute of how unhinged Axel is. There is a lot of thought put into the background and psyche of each character which allows you to gain a unique perspective of the different sides of a love story.The story was well paced and had me devouring the whole book in record time. This book has some spicy scenes in it for sure, but it was not over the top and very appropriate for the story. We also love a retelling of a classic with a twist!If you love reading about crazy, obsessive, unhinged, all consuming, gaslighting, severe touch and die love then this book, and Axel, is definitely for you.

You know that moment when you finish a book and it leaves you speechless…but you want to rush to write a review that captures exactly how you feel in the moment??? To put into words all your emotions in an attempt to do it justice…but you can’t… because you’re speechless?!?! 🤩😱🥹Well this is definitely one of those books…and I’d be lying if I said I was able to write this review in one shot. My first attempt was fragments of thoughts and feelings expressing my awe of this story (with lots of gushing over Axel). Second was even more gushing over Axel. And the third is what you’re reading now (no surprise, but expect more swooning over Axel). #sorrynotsorryI wish I could put into words just how perfect this book was from beginning to end. Though I’ll admit I was a little worried when I saw the main character was married and that this was a twisted Gatsby story (emphasis on the twisted)…I had faith in this author and not only did she not let me down, she really outdid herself with this one. 👏 👏 👏I devoured this book and although I rarely do rereads, this will be a book I come back to time and time again.Axel is truly in a category all on his own. The ch0k€hold this man has on me in unparalleled...and I don’t want him to ever let go! 🤩 His level of 0bs€ssion for Piya was absolute perfection! He is laser focused on her from the first time he sees her and never stops manipulating and plotting to make her his. She's the one thing that can make him lose control despite the years of mastering restraint. The mask he presents to the world only cracks when something stands between him and his 0bs€ssion (even if that person is Piya herself) and d4mn did I swoon every time that happened. 😏🥵I’m not ashamed to admit that I'm as 0bs€ssed with Axel as he is for Piya (and for the first time in my life I found myself j€a|ous of a fictional heroine even though I absolutely LOVED her). Piya herself was such a complex character. I wish I could go into her story more but it would give away some major spoilers. But I will say she is a character she's easily cemented herself as one of my all time favorite heroines.This story was absolutely amazing!!! From the deliciously swoonworthy 0bs€ssion that Axel has for Piya and the complexity of the characters and their relationships, it's definitely one of the most intriguing and captivating books I have ever read. Truly a book that will forever live rent free in mind and truly one of the best books I’ve read. Wer sagt, Psychopathen können nicht lieben? Oder lieben sie nur anders? Dieses Buch ist gut geschrieben, spannend erzählt und hat einen unvorhersehbaren Verlauf. Natürlich passieren in dem Buch Dinge, die man im wahren Leben nicht akzeptieren und respektieren kann, sollte, darf, aber es ist eine Geschichte und als Fiction fand ich sie sehr nice. Es gab natürlich Aussagen, wo man die Augen verdreht, den Kopf schütteln oder schmunzeln muss. Doch war die Geschichte super. Auch der Verlauf war großartig. Ich kann es jedem nur empfehlen.

I don't know why I took more than 100 days to start this book. For real, because this book will take you on a journey of love both the soul catching fire and calming you in a storm kind.The characters are so beautifully depicted and the development of the characters and the flow of the plot is superb.
