The DVD instructions were missing but otherwise the product is easy to use; could use a clip to stop the tubing from flipping out of the jar, but clothespegs work well enough.

Fermenter came cracked. I cleared out the glass shards, but it's still leaking at the spigot. Should have gotten a plastic one instead.

I mean I got most of it and the glass wasn't broken. However on my equipment list it says I should have cleaner. I did not get any.

I was unable to get a 1 gallon recipe in my first request for one. The recipe I received was for the 5 gallon. In an auto reply to my first question I was asked not to send more than 1 question a day. As a beginner to brewing this was not helpful in that I had several questions. I also asked what was that item above with no reply yet. I went with Amazon because of the speed of shipping over Northern Brewing.Today is the day after brewing. The smell while cooking the wort was great. I have some yeast activity going on this morning which is fun to see and also reassureing.I would recommend this for a beginner. In the future I'll still use the 1 gallon fermenter since I live in a small house and price for addtional brew kits is good.

It was a fun activity that made some great beer however the company doesn’t sell refill kits, making the kit useless after the first use. Bottles are also not included and most companies will sell you 24 costly bottles when you only need around 7-10z.Good for one and done. Not good if you enjoy and plan to do again.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he was ecstatic. He finally had time to brew his beer and bottle it....and it just ready to drink on St. Patrick's Day. He popped open his bottle and couldn't believe how great the beer tasted. He is already looking forward to trying other flavors. I highly recommend this kit. Just don't forget to buy some bottles also!
