Good book, well illustrated. American book so not totally applicable for the UK,it lacks design detail but a useful guide when planninga new roof or extension

Very informative.

Not read this book yet but first impression is it will be completely useless to me as its made for the American market as the example dimension are all imperial ( feet and inches for the layman) so I doubt if the formulas will convert for metric... So disappointing as it looks great and has some very nice photos experts, experting in imperial alas

Great for information to have for building a roof over the screened greenhouse to fix the patio floor problem.

El libro en si, no está mal. El problema, bajo mi punto de vista, es que hay demasiadas fotos de "fulanos" trabajando, en vez de explicarlo todo más detalladamente. Sinceramente, aporta muchísima menos información de la que yo creía. Visualmente está muy bien y el precio está muy ajustado, pero como referencia no vale. Eso si, como lectura liviana y aprender un par de cosas, no está mal.

The art of framing roofs is being lost in this generation of framers because of the heavy use of engineered roof trusses. I purchsed this on a whim and can honestly say it surprised me as too how much it taught me about properly laying out roof framing after many years of being away from drawing roof plans. This shall reflect in more accurate plan sets I drawing for contractors. The entire series of For Pros by Pros is outstanding and should be on the book shelves of all residential draftsmen / draftswomen / designers.

Just the right information I was looking to add a large shed dormer to both the garage & house!

If I can learn just one thing from a book that makes me more productive or I can produce a better job and it runs between 15 & 20 bucks, I consider it worthwhile. This book was worthwhile. A good beginners book.
