Soft on the feet.
I’m no Fred Astaire, but at least I can glide like him.

Worth it
I didn't want to have to drive to the Very Fine Dance Shoes's LA showroom location, so I decided to order them online. While doing research before purchasing my first dance shoes ever, I saw a lot of reviews complaining about the Very Fine Dance Shoes brand and the quality of their products. I just chalk it up to the Internet being used as a soapbox for misplaced complaints as usual - hello people complaining on Amazon about shaving razors being "too sharp", I'm looking at you. But I digress. The shoes came in new condition and were even supported by rods and paper wadding to prevent them from becoming misshapen during transit. I ordered my usual shoe size and they fit comfortably. I spend about 2-3 hours a night for 3-4 nights a week learning dance at a beginner level and they've held well and have even netted me some compliments from the teachers and other students. I will say that my feet feel a lot better in these than when I was clomping around in dress shoes and squeaking across the floor in sneakers. For the people that complained about it being too tight, you should probably know that they are supposed to fit snugly to prevent slippage and forming blisters due to friction. They feel thin and light because they're just a protective layer and not actually dress shoes. But that's to help you move across the floor with more ease. For a better experience, I recommend that you be mindful about what kind of socks you wear with these. I've found that dress socks are ideal and that thin athletic socks are also okay. To prolong the life of the shoes and to mitigate unnecessary damage, I also recommend wearing your regular shoes as you walk into the dance studio and change into these dance shoes once you are inside. The felt material on the bottom isn't meant for everyday transit, especially when traversing concrete or asphalt.All-in-all, they are worth the investment. Ballroom Dancing can be an expensive hobby but, like most things, you also get back what you put into it.

Shoe fits and is comfortable
Shoe is true to size. Comfortable, but beware, these are dancing shoes with a felt bottom. Not for street use. Leather uppers are thin, but I guess that is what you pay for. Shoe bag is handy.
