I recommend this. It is easy to use and lightweight and you can adjust the lighting and font easily. Charges fast and battery lasts a long time too.

Very pleased
I traded up from a Paperwhite Kindle I bought 10 years ago when I was taking a trip. It is so nice to have books saved up in your own library. When you finish one, you have another one available. I do all FREE KINDLE books from Amazon. I also have the option to get free books from the library as well. I found that the new Kindle takes a little time to figure out where things have been "moved" and what the icons mean. It's nice to not have to charge the battery as frequently as the old one... I guess after 10 years I would be tired and a bit worn out, too. New one is very responsive turning pages quickly. I like having more lighting options. When I traded I got a trade discount and a $5.00 gift card. I like the size and how portable it is. I just put it in my bag and away I go. I love my Kindle. It's worth every penny to me-- even when choosing ad free which is $10. more.

Excellent device
Really happy with this purchase I can’t tell you what a bless blessing it has been to be able to read in the dark. I didn’t realize what a hassle it was before having to have a light on it. It’s so nice having this to use in the dark. I’m a big reader and this has been a big help.

It’s much smaller and compact than I thought it would be.
This device is perfect for anybody who like to have their favorite books with them at all times! Very easy to travel with and is the perfect size for your hands when reading. The paperwhite finish prevents reflection and glare so it works well even in a sunny reading spot!

Convenient but not a great cover
I got this to replace a previous model which mysteriously stopped working. As usual, it was a bargain. It's thinner than ever, very light and the battery life is amazing. The backlight is perfect -- I can use it in the sun or turn it down to avoid disturbing my sleeping partner. It's easier on my eyes than using my Fire tablet and (I never thought this would be good) the lack of internet reduces distractions. I have a tablet for everything else. It holds a ton of ebooks. My main complaint is the price of the books and how easy it is to accidentally buy books when you click on them. Also, I dont get credit for reading days on the Kindle Reading Challenge if I have the wrong setting (I can't remember if it's the airplane mode or bluetooth). If it has no problem connecting for me to accidentally buy a book, surely it can communicate with Amazon to record my daily reading.Regarding the cover that was part of a discounted package: it's supposedly leather. Because it feels so much like hard plastic, I have to assume it's a very thin layer of leather. I thought I'd received "leather textured" something. I'm very glad I didn't buy the cover as a standalone item. Having said that, it turns the screen on when you open the Kindle and it folds over the back and stays there.All in all, I love my reader and even with its faults, it's a great bargain.

Great battery life
My first kindle since the OG one a long time ago. I’ve been reading on an iPad mini until it finally pooped out and wouldn’t update, so time for something new! This kindle is very lightweight and easy to hold, battery life is great, navigation isn’t totally intuitive, but I didn’t a bit of hunting around to find menus and such! Overall really pleased with this and definitely don’t need additional features of a more upgraded model.
