Q: Does the grill need to be yet or does any lubricant need to be used for the scrubbing

I used it on my cold, dry grill grates as well as right after a little citrus spray. But in either case, I don't recommend this product - I burned through 3 blocks on my first attempted cleaning and still had more than 1/4 grill surface left. I thought they would last much longer but they crumble and turn to dust VERY quickly. They work and I liked the idea, but would need a closet full to last the season.

It should it removed rust from our hibachi grill.

Q: Use on cast iron skillet/wok? Will it remove built up seasoning?

These things will remove anything built up if you scrub hard enough. It seems it would be much easier to use a chemical compound to remove the built up seasoning. They work well on grills because it’s a small surface to clean.

I used these blocks to cheap my barbecue grill. It did remove rust but you do need to use numerous bricks to do that effectively
