After Hours Book 4 (Piano Solo): Fantasies for Solo Piano

Wish I'd had a "second chance" to decide to buy this!
I can't play any more (due to a hand injury), but nonetheless still buy dozens of sheet music books to program into MIDI files. I'd never heard of this lady, but thought I'd try her, as I love most piano solo pieces. I picked a piece out at random, to start with, namely "Second Chance". Good grief! What tuneless, discordant codswallop! Is this what they call "contemporary" music?! I thought it might improve when the arpeggio-type bars came in, but no - still not pleasant on the ear. Exactly why I hate film soundtrack music - no melody and the listener is hurled from key to key, often mid-bar! If I DO attempt another piece from the book, I'll program a few bars first and play it back (rather than wait till I've completed it), then I won't have wasted so much time. But I won't be rushing to do it, that's for sure!

I made a mistake in ordering such a high grade book but have attempted two or three of the pieces and feel challenged to the extreme! Will keep going back to the book to see if I am making progress.
